Connect Cursor to WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook

Add Chatfuel to mcp.json, sign in once, and let Cursor's agent set up your AI Agent, read chats and build on the full Chatfuel API.

How to connect Chatfuel to Cursor

  1. Add the server

Add Chatfuel to ~/.cursor/mcp.json with this address:

    https://mcp.chatfuel.com/panel
  2. Sign in with Chatfuel

Cursor asks you to sign in when it starts the server. Log in to Chatfuel and approve.

  3. Ask the agent

Write what you need in the agent chat. For the full API, add https://mcp.chatfuel.com/panel/api as a second server.

What can Cursor do with Chatfuel?

Enable the AI from the editor

The agent checks your bots and channels, then turns the AI on where you tell it to.

Load the FAQ from files

Point the agent at a markdown file or a price list, and it adds the entries to the knowledge base.

Script reply settings

Change tone, working hours, follow-ups and handoff rules with a prompt instead of clicking through the dashboard.

Wire up comment replies

Give the agent a post and a keyword; it configures the public reply and the DM. On TikTok, keyword replies.

Audit recent chats

The agent pulls recent conversations, flags the unanswered ones and FAQ gaps, and writes in the missing answers once you approve them.

Seed services and staff

Create services, prices and specialists from a list in your repo, so the AI Agent can book them.

One server for every messaging channel

From the editor, Cursor's agent reaches whatever your Chatfuel account runs: WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and website chat.

No per-channel SDKs or tokens to manage. Chatfuel keeps the channel connections; the agent works through one MCP server.

What is Cursor?

Cursor is an AI code editor built on VS Code. Its agent writes and edits code with you and can call MCP servers as tools.

With Chatfuel added, the agent can set up your AI Agent from the editor and, through the developer endpoint, query leads, catalog and appointments for your own scripts.

What the Chatfuel MCP server exposes

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open protocol that lets an AI client call tools on a remote server. Cursor reads MCP servers from mcp.json.

Chatfuel runs two endpoints: /panel with typed tools and playbooks for running the AI Agent, and /panel/api with the full GraphQL schema for any query or mutation your account allows.

Remote, not local

Both endpoints are hosted at mcp.chatfuel.com over Streamable HTTP. No package to install; Cursor signs you in with OAuth.

What can you ask Cursor to do with Chatfuel?

  • Write a script that exports today's Qualified leads to CSV
  • Add every question from faq.md to the knowledge base
  • Find out why the bot stopped replying on WhatsApp
  • Show which automations are on for each channel
  • Set up comment replies for my last three posts
  • List last week's chats the AI couldn't answer

Is it safe to let Cursor act on your Chatfuel account?

  • OAuth, not pasted keysCursor signs in through Chatfuel's page, so no long-lived key sits in your config.
  • Read-only scopeApprove with Read-only, and the agent gets read tools only; changes are refused.
  • Checked before it runsQueries are validated against the schema before they reach Chatfuel, and tools that change data are marked for the agent to confirm.
  • Revoke per sessionEach connection shows up in Connected apps in Chatfuel. Revoke it, and the next API call fails.
