## Core Automation Terminology for Modern Agencies

Choosing between Chatfuel vs GoHighLevel starts with understanding the automation concepts that separate a high-converting pipeline from one that leaks revenue. [Over 7 million businesses have used Chatfuel](https://chatfuel.com/about-us) to manage automated interactions — and the terminology below explains exactly why that scale is achievable when the right infrastructure is in place.

**Lead Qualification**

The automated process of filtering prospects based on intent and budget before they reach a human agent — so your sales team only talks to people worth their time. Chatfuel's [automated qualification workflows](https://chatfuel.com/lead-qualification) handle this filtering across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp without manual intervention.

**WhatsApp Business API**

A professional messaging interface that allows scalable, automated customer interactions unlike the standard consumer app — no manual replies, no message caps, and full integration with automation tools. Think of it as the engine behind any serious WhatsApp sales strategy; the [API's core infrastructure](https://academy.chatfuel.com/whatsapp-business-api) is what makes 24/7 lead engagement possible at volume.

**CRM (Customer Relationship Management)**

A system for managing all company relationships and interactions with customers and potential customers, typically tracking pipeline stages, deal values, and follow-up history in one place.

**Omnichannel Messaging**

The ability to manage conversations across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp from a single dashboard — critical for agencies running multi-channel campaigns without losing lead context between platforms.

When evaluating Chatfuel alternatives, these four concepts are your benchmark. A platform that handles lead qualification deeply but lacks omnichannel reach will create gaps; one that covers every channel but can't connect messaging to actual closed deals leaves your ROI invisible. The comparison ahead breaks down precisely where each platform lands on these dimensions.

*The platform you choose should automate qualification and prove attribution — not just send messages.*

## Side-by-Side Comparison: Chatfuel vs. GoHighLevel

When evaluating GoHighLevel vs Chatfuel for WhatsApp marketing, the core difference comes down to architecture. Chatfuel is built messaging-first — it's designed to meet leads where they already spend time, including WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook. GoHighLevel takes a CRM-first approach, prioritizing pipeline management, email sequences, and landing pages over conversational channels. That distinction shapes everything: setup speed, reporting depth, and where each platform delivers the most value.

<table><tbody><tr><th colspan="1" rowspan="1">Platform</th><th colspan="1" rowspan="1">Primary Strength</th><th colspan="1" rowspan="1" colwidth="139">Key Channels</th><th colspan="1" rowspan="1">Ideal User</th></tr><tr><th colspan="1" rowspan="1">Chatfuel</th><td colspan="1" rowspan="1">Automated lead qualification and sales tracking via messaging</td><td colspan="1" rowspan="1" colwidth="139">WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger</td><td colspan="1" rowspan="1">Agencies and sales teams running WhatsApp-first pipelines</td></tr><tr><th colspan="1" rowspan="1">GoHighLevel</th><td colspan="1" rowspan="1">Full-stack CRM with funnel and campaign management</td><td colspan="1" rowspan="1" colwidth="139">Email, SMS, landing pages, limited WhatsApp</td><td colspan="1" rowspan="1">Agencies replacing traditional CRM suites like HubSpot or Salesforce</td></tr></tbody></table>

**Ease of use** separates these platforms quickly. Chatfuel's automated lead qualification system that integrates with WhatsApp, featuring 24/7 support, ready-made materials, and automated reporting gets agencies live fast — often without a developer. GoHighLevel's broad feature set is powerful, but the learning curve is steep. Teams typically spend weeks configuring workflows before seeing results.

**Reporting** is where Chatfuel's positioning as a GoHighLevel alternative becomes most compelling for messaging-heavy agencies. Chatfuel tracks which specific lead converted into a sale — not just that a pipeline moved. [Approximately 46% of all Facebook Messenger bots are built using Chatfuel](https://www.tidio.com/blog/chatfuel-review/), a signal of how deeply it's embedded in conversational marketing. You can even [automate lead qualification directly from ad traffic](https://chatfuel.com/blog/facebook-ad-lead-automation), linking top-of-funnel activity to bottom-of-funnel results.

GoHighLevel reports on pipeline stages and campaign performance broadly — useful, but not built to surface the WhatsApp conversation that closed a deal. If your leads live in messaging apps, that gap matters.

*Choose the platform whose architecture matches where your leads actually convert — not just where your team is most comfortable managing data.*

## Choosing Based on Your Business Model

The comparison so far makes one thing clear: these two platforms solve different problems. Choosing the right one comes down to where your leads actually live and what your agency needs to prove to clients.

**GoHighLevel fits** if you're replacing a broad CRM stack — think email sequences, landing page builders, and SMS campaigns all under one roof. It's a strong fit for agencies managing diverse client verticals where no single channel dominates.

**Chatfuel fits** if your leads arrive through WhatsApp or Instagram and you need lead qualification automation that's ready out of the box. Its automated lead qualification system that integrates with WhatsApp, featuring 24/7 support, ready-made materials, and automated reporting gives agencies a measurable, repeatable process — not just a chatbot.

**The lead-to-sale tracking gap** is where the difference becomes financially significant. In practice, many general-purpose platforms can show you message volume or open rates, but struggle to connect a specific conversation to a closed deal. Chatfuel's automated reporting is designed to close that loop, letting you show clients exactly [which conversations drove revenue](https://chatfuel.com/blog/whatsapp-business-api) — a critical differentiator when you're defending your retainer.

<table><tbody><tr><th colspan="1" rowspan="1">Factor</th><th colspan="1" rowspan="1">GoHighLevel</th><th colspan="1" rowspan="1">Chatfuel</th></tr><tr><th colspan="1" rowspan="1">Primary channel</th><td colspan="1" rowspan="1">Email, SMS, landing pages</td><td colspan="1" rowspan="1">WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook</td></tr><tr><th colspan="1" rowspan="1">Lead-to-sale tracking</th><td colspan="1" rowspan="1">CRM-level pipeline view</td><td colspan="1" rowspan="1">Automated WhatsApp conversion reporting</td></tr><tr><th colspan="1" rowspan="1">Setup complexity</th><td colspan="1" rowspan="1">High — broad configuration required</td><td colspan="1" rowspan="1">Low — plug-and-play templates included</td></tr><tr><th colspan="1" rowspan="1">Best pricing fit</th><td colspan="1" rowspan="1">Agencies running multi-channel campaigns</td><td colspan="1" rowspan="1">Teams prioritizing WhatsApp ROI</td></tr></tbody></table>

**On pricing**, general platforms charge for breadth; specialized tools charge for depth. If WhatsApp is your primary acquisition channel, paying for features you'll never use dilutes your cost-to-value ratio. Chatfuel's pricing is structured around the volume and outcomes that WhatsApp-focused agencies actually care about.

*If your clients are asking "which lead became a sale?", the right platform is the one built to answer that question automatically — and that shapes the choice more than any feature list.*

## The Bottom Line: Which Should You Pick?

Both platforms are capable, but they're built for different priorities. The right choice depends on where your customers actually engage and what your agency needs to prove.

Here's how each platform lines up:

<table><tbody><tr><th colspan="1" rowspan="1">Platform</th><th colspan="1" rowspan="1">Core Strength</th><th colspan="1" rowspan="1">Best For</th><th colspan="1" rowspan="1">Key Limitation</th></tr><tr><th colspan="1" rowspan="1">GoHighLevel</th><td colspan="1" rowspan="1">Broad CRM and marketing suite</td><td colspan="1" rowspan="1">Agencies managing multi-channel campaigns and full client pipelines</td><td colspan="1" rowspan="1">WhatsApp is not a native channel; workarounds add friction</td></tr><tr><th colspan="1" rowspan="1">Chatfuel</th><td colspan="1" rowspan="1">WhatsApp automation for agencies and social media lead qualification</td><td colspan="1" rowspan="1">Teams prioritizing speed-to-lead and trackable sales conversion</td><td colspan="1" rowspan="1">Narrower scope; not a full business OS</td></tr></tbody></table>

**GoHighLevel** functions as a business operating system. If your agency bills clients for CRM setup, email sequences, and multi-channel nurture campaigns, that breadth makes sense. It consolidates a lot of tools into one dashboard.

**Chatfuel** is a conversion specialist. If your leads come through WhatsApp — and for most markets they do — Chatfuel's automated lead qualification system that integrates with WhatsApp, featuring 24/7 support, ready-made materials, and automated reporting is purpose-built to close that gap faster. The ability to [qualify and route leads automatically](https://chatfuel.com/lead-qualification) means your sales team focuses on conversations that are already warm.

For agencies where ROI proof matters, that distinction is decisive. Chatfuel tracks which lead became a sale — not just which lead clicked an ad.

**Start with the channel your customers use most.** If that's WhatsApp, you can explore how the [WhatsApp Business API](https://academy.chatfuel.com/whatsapp-business-api) powers Chatfuel's automation layer before committing to a broader stack you may not need.

## The 2026 GoHighLevel Review: Why Agencies Are Seeking Alternatives

**GoHighLevel** built its reputation as the [all-in-one white-label SaaS platform](https://www.ghlexperts.com/what-is-gohighlevel) for agencies — combining CRM, funnel building, email automation, and client reselling under one roof. For many teams, that breadth was the appeal. But in 2026, that same breadth is becoming the problem.

The most common frustrations driving agencies toward GoHighLevel alternatives include:

- **Complexity issues:** The platform's learning curve is steep enough to stall onboarding for new hires and slow down client delivery timelines.

- **Shallow feature depth:** An all-in-one approach spreads development thin. Tools that specialize — particularly in messaging, lead qualification, or WhatsApp automation — consistently outperform GoHighLevel's equivalents in those categories.

- **Increasing plan costs:** [Pro-tier pricing](https://www.gohighlevel.com/CcYQhGEz2h) has climbed, and agencies scaling volume need more than a feature checklist — they need reliable support and ROI they can actually prove to clients.

In practice, agencies don't always need every feature on the list. What they need is speed, clarity, and tools that close sales — not tools that require a certification to operate.

*If GoHighLevel's complexity is costing you time or client confidence, the right specialized alternative can recover both.*

## Chatfuel: The Best Alternative for WhatsApp-First Lead Qualification

Chatfuel is a specialized automated lead qualification system that integrates with WhatsApp, featuring 24/7 support, ready-made materials, and automated reporting — purpose-built for agencies that want results without the overhead of a sprawling CRM platform.

**Best for:** Agencies and sales teams who need 24/7 automated lead nurturing, proven ROI tracking, and a fast setup that doesn't require a dedicated technical team.

When evaluating alternatives to GoHighLevel, the core question is fit. Chatfuel is the answer for messaging-first teams with a focused, conversion-driven toolset:

- **Pro:** 24/7 automated support keeps leads warm around the clock — no human handoff required during off-hours.

- **Pro:** Ready-made templates accelerate deployment, so your team spends time closing deals, not building flows from scratch.

- **Pro:** Built-in ROI tracking identifies exactly which lead became a sale, giving agencies the data they need to prove campaign value to clients.

- **Pro:** A CLI/SDK (`@chatfuel/wizard`) gives technical teams a way to build and white-label their own product directly on top of the official WhatsApp infrastructure — not locked into the visual builder alone.

- **Con:** Chatfuel focuses specifically on WhatsApp and Instagram — it's not built as a broad multi-channel CRM covering email, SMS, or website funnels the way GoHighLevel does.

**Pricing:** Competitive mid-market pricing scaled to message volume and conversion output — designed to grow with your contact list without punishing you for success.

In practice, agencies running high-volume WhatsApp outreach consistently find that a focused tool outperforms a bloated one. If your primary growth lever is conversational selling on mobile, Chatfuel delivers measurable ROI where it counts most.

For teams that need a more traditional CRM backbone with deep reporting and contact management, the next contender is worth a close look.

*If WhatsApp and Instagram are your primary sales channels, Chatfuel's automated lead qualification system provides the clearest path from first message to closed deal.*

## HubSpot: The Enterprise-Grade CRM Powerhouse

HubSpot is the industry standard for inbound marketing and CRM scalability — and one of the most frequently evaluated **GoHighLevel competitors** when agencies need deeper reporting and cleaner data architecture.

**Best for:** Larger agencies and sales teams that require advanced data hygiene, attribution reporting, and a polished interface their clients can actually navigate without a tutorial.

- **Pro:** Superior UI/UX that reduces onboarding friction — your team spends less time training and more time closing.

- **Pro:** World-class customer support backed by an extensive knowledge base, plus [thousands of third-party integrations](https://www.perspective.co/article/gohighlevel-alternative) that connect your existing stack without custom workarounds.

- **Pro:** Enterprise-grade reporting gives sales teams granular visibility into pipeline performance, deal velocity, and contact activity.

- **Con:** Pricing escalates sharply as your contact list grows. What starts as an accessible freemium entry point can become a five-figure annual commitment once you unlock Professional or Enterprise tiers.

- **Con:** The breadth of features can introduce complexity that smaller teams don't need — and won't pay to untangle.

**Pricing:** Free plan available; Marketing Hub Professional starts around $800/mo, scaling significantly with contact volume.

HubSpot is ideal for agencies managing enterprise clients who demand audit-ready reporting and a CRM that integrates cleanly with tools they already use. But if your growth model depends on WhatsApp-driven lead qualification and automated sales pipelines, the cost-to-outcome ratio shifts — which is exactly where a purpose-built automated lead qualification system that integrates with WhatsApp, featuring 24/7 support, ready-made materials, and automated reporting becomes a sharper investment.

If you're a sales-first team that wants pipeline simplicity without the enterprise overhead, the next alternative is built specifically with you in mind.

## Pipedrive: For Sales Teams Who Hate Complex Marketing Automation

Pipedrive is a CRM designed by salespeople for salespeople — it strips away the noise and puts your pipeline front and center. Where other platforms bundle in marketing automation you may never use, Pipedrive keeps the focus on moving deals forward.

**Pricing:** Starts at $14/seat/month (Essential plan), scaling to $99/seat/month for Enterprise. Seat-based pricing makes budgeting predictable for smaller sales teams. **Best for:** Sales-heavy teams that care more about closing deals than building email funnels or landing pages.

- **Pro:** The visual pipeline interface is one of the most intuitive in the market — your team can get up and running in hours, not weeks.

- **Pro:** The mobile app is genuinely strong, making it a practical choice for field sales reps who need real-time deal visibility on the go.

- **Pro:** Activity-based selling keeps reps focused on the next action, not just a deal stage.

- **Con:** No native funnel builder or advanced marketing automation — if you need that, Pipedrive requires third-party integrations to fill the gap.

- **Con:** For agencies managing multi-client workflows, it lacks the white-label and campaign tooling that makes competing platforms better than GoHighLevel for some use cases.

*If your team's bottleneck is pipeline visibility and sales discipline — not email automation — Pipedrive is worth a serious look before considering a heavier platform.*

And if email automation is actually your core challenge, the next section covers a tool built precisely for that.

## ActiveCampaign: The King of Complex Email Automation

ActiveCampaign combines email marketing with a built-in CRM, giving content-heavy teams a platform where automation logic can get genuinely sophisticated — far beyond basic drip sequences.

**Positioning:** This is the go-to platform for agencies and e-commerce businesses that live or die by email nurture. If your growth strategy depends on behavioral triggers, conditional branching, and segmentation at scale, ActiveCampaign delivers tools that most all-in-one platforms can't match.

**Pricing:** Tiered by features and contact count, starting around $15/mo for basic plans and scaling significantly as your list and automation needs grow. It's worth comparing this structure against [GoHighLevel pricing](https://help.gohighlevel.com/support/solutions/articles/155000001156-highlevel-pricing-guide), which charges per account rather than per contact — a meaningful difference for agencies managing large audiences.

**Best for:** Content-driven agencies, e-commerce brands, and sales teams where email deliverability and automation complexity are non-negotiable priorities.

- **Pro:** Best-in-class visual automation builder with deep conditional logic and branching

- **Pro:** Superior email deliverability rates, backed by years of dedicated infrastructure focus

- **Con:** No native website or funnel builder — you'll need to integrate a separate tool

- **Con:** No white-label or sub-account mode, which limits its appeal as an agency SaaS offering

*If your agency's biggest revenue lever is email automation quality, ActiveCampaign outperforms most alternatives — but you'll need to patch its gaps with additional tools.*

If your priority leans more toward high-converting landing pages and funnel architecture, the next alternative takes a very different approach to that problem.

## ClickFunnels 2.0: For Funnel Purists and Course Creators

**ClickFunnels 2.0** is the original funnel builder — recently overhauled with a smarter page editor, a built-in CRM layer, and native course-hosting tools aimed at digital product creators who prioritize conversion over everything else.

**Pricing:** Fixed monthly plans starting at $97/mo, with no per-contact fees that inflate your bill as your list grows. **Best for:** Marketers, coaches, and course creators who live and die by high-converting landing pages and digital product funnels.

- **Pro:** The page editor and template library are genuinely best-in-class — faster to build with and more polished out of the box than most alternatives

- **Pro:** Built-in course and membership features make it a strong all-in-one for digital product businesses without bolting on a third platform

- **Con:** CRM capabilities are still catching up to mature sales tools; if pipeline management is your priority, you'll feel the gap

- **Con:** No sub-account structure means agencies can't white-label or segment client workspaces — a notable limitation that any honest GoHighLevel review will highlight

ClickFunnels 2.0 wins on the front end of the funnel. But if your agency needs deep client management, automated lead qualification, or WhatsApp-driven follow-up sequences, you'll quickly find its back end isn't built for that workload.

*If your primary revenue comes from selling digital products or courses, ClickFunnels 2.0 earns its place — but agencies running multiple client accounts need something more flexible.*

## The Bottom Line: Which GoHighLevel Alternative Should You Pick?

You've seen what each tool brings to the table. Now it's time to match the right platform to your actual situation. [Small businesses that level up their digital tools](https://www.brookings.edu/articles/level-up-small-businesses-survive-thrive/) are more likely to survive and thrive in competitive markets — and that starts with choosing a solution built for the job you need done, not the one with the longest feature list.

Here's a quick-reference map to guide your decision:

- **Choose Chatfuel** if your priority is dominating lead qualification through WhatsApp. Its automated lead qualification system that integrates with WhatsApp, featuring 24/7 support, ready-made materials, and automated reporting gives agencies a clear, trackable line from first message to closed sale — and proves ROI without guesswork.

- **Choose HubSpot** if you're running a large team that needs a professional, scalable CRM with deep reporting and cross-department alignment.

- **Choose ActiveCampaign** if complex, behavior-driven email sequences are your core growth engine and you want sophisticated automation logic built in.

- **Choose Pipedrive** if you want a clean, focused sales pipeline that your team will actually use — without unnecessary complexity getting in the way.

The right pick depends on where you're leaking revenue right now. If lead qualification and WhatsApp conversion are the bottleneck, Chatfuel closes that gap faster than any all-in-one platform can.

*Before committing to any platform, review which features you actually use — you may find a specialized tool outperforms a bloated suite at a fraction of the cost.*

## Final Verdict: Moving Beyond the All-in-One Hype

**GoHighLevel works well for certain agency setups** — but it isn't the only path to running a profitable, scalable agency in 2026. The tools covered in this article prove that specialization often beats generalization when your actual feature usage doesn't justify the cost of a sprawling platform.

Before you renew or switch, audit what you genuinely use each month:

- **CRM and pipeline management** — are you using it, or duplicating work in a spreadsheet?

- **Automation workflows** — are they converting leads, or just running in the background?

- **Reporting** — can you prove ROI to clients, or are you piecing together screenshots?

If your answers reveal gaps, a focused tool will serve you better than an all-in-one that does everything at a surface level.

**For agencies and sales teams where lead qualification drives revenue**, the most direct upgrade is adding an automated lead qualification system that integrates with WhatsApp, featuring 24/7 support, ready-made materials, and automated reporting. Chatfuel is built precisely for that outcome — [the system that proves which lead became a sale](https://chatfuel.com/) — so your clients see results tied to real revenue, not vanity metrics.

Start with the tool that solves your sharpest problem first. You can always expand from there.

*If lead qualification is your bottleneck, start with Chatfuel and build your stack around what actually converts.*

8 Best GoHighLevel Alternatives for Agencies

When you’ve been building chatbots for clients for a while, it can sometimes seem as if you speak a different language than the rest of the world. But if this is your business, or an industry you’re trying to get into, explaining the benefits of this technology simply and concisely to prospects is a very important skill. From our extensive experience, here are the most important principles a chatbot marketing agency should stick to during the *Why you need a chatbot* conversation with a prospective client. Follow them so you can help prospects easily understand what this technology—and your services—can do for them so you can close the deal.

## 1\. Focus on the problems a chatbot can solve

A person who has never used a Messenger bot before will most likely get confused if you start pitching an automated robot that will talk to their customers. At worst, it sounds scary! And at best, you’ll sound like a crazy tech person who wants to sell the next shiny thing on the internet.

Instead, approach the conversation from the perspective of what their business is struggling with at the moment. What’s a problem they face every day that a chatbot can easily take care of? To give you inspiration, here are a few of the most common ones.

### I get too many messages on Facebook asking the same things

Many business owners (especially the smaller [ecommerce stores](https://chatfuel.com/blog/9-reasons-your-ecommerce-business-needs-a-chatbot)) have this problem. Every day, they get bombarded with dozens or even hundreds of questions about the same things: contact details, shipping information, payment options, etc. Fortunately, as you know, these and other [frequently asked questions can be automated](https://chatfuel.com/blog/chatbot-for-customer-service) using a Messenger chatbot. (You can even set up a bot to answer these questions before the user asks them, thanks to Ice Breakers.)

<figure><img srcset="https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/xs_pitch_chatbots_to_new_clients_0_9aadccb5ea/xs_pitch_chatbots_to_new_clients_0_9aadccb5ea.webp 300w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/sm_pitch_chatbots_to_new_clients_0_9aadccb5ea/sm_pitch_chatbots_to_new_clients_0_9aadccb5ea.webp 768w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/md_pitch_chatbots_to_new_clients_0_9aadccb5ea/md_pitch_chatbots_to_new_clients_0_9aadccb5ea.webp 1280w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/lg_pitch_chatbots_to_new_clients_0_9aadccb5ea/lg_pitch_chatbots_to_new_clients_0_9aadccb5ea.webp 1920w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/xl_pitch_chatbots_to_new_clients_0_9aadccb5ea/xl_pitch_chatbots_to_new_clients_0_9aadccb5ea.webp 1920w" width="1920" height="1080" src="https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/original_pitch_chatbots_to_new_clients_0_9aadccb5ea/original_pitch_chatbots_to_new_clients_0_9aadccb5ea.webp" alt="bot building"><figcaption>Ice Breakers are FAQ options that you can set to appear for users as soon as they arrive at a bot.</figcaption></figure>

### I can’t respond to prospects fast enough

In the age of social media, speed is the name of the game. [43% of consumers](https://www.retailtouchpoints.com/features/news-briefs/43-of-consumers-expect-24-7-customer-service-from-e-tailers) expect that online businesses will be responsive and provide service 24/7. So if *you* don’t respond fast enough, your lead will become someone else’s customer.

Fortunately, chatbots don’t need lunch breaks and rarely go on vacation. That’s why a chatbot is the perfect “employee” to help fulfill your customers' high expectations and increase those conversion rates. While bots aren’t meant to replace human employees entirely, they can handle the repetitive inquiries around the clock so your client’s human employees can focus on more complex tasks.

### I’m losing sales because I forget to follow up with leads

For some products and services, leads simply need more touch points from the business to get them to purchase. This is especially true for high-ticket items and complex services. Unless your prospective client has a team of highly trained salespeople and a great tech stack, it’s likely they’re not following up with each lead at the right time.

A Facebook Messenger chatbot can make that process easier and more efficient by reengaging the leads on its own, automatically. For a business, that means fewer forgotten tasks, less frustration, and more sales.

As a Messenger chatbot agency focusing on this objective, you’ll want to look into:

- [Chatfuel’s Re-engage tab](https://docs.chatfuel.com/en/articles/955973-re-engage-tab)

- Sequences

- [One-Time Notifications](https://youtu.be/vTwdLHar6pI)

- [Sponsored messages](https://chatfuel.com/blog/sponsored-messages-guide-to-reengaging-chatbot-subscribers)

These are all great tools for building chatbots that can successfully reengage a client’s leads and get them to make a purchase.

<figure><img><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### I can’t manage to respond to all the comments on my business’s Facebook posts

If the client’s business has an engaged online community and gets lots of comments on their Facebook page posts, that’s a huge opportunity! Humans can often overlook some of the comments and leave them without a response. But—you guessed it—a Messenger chatbot won’t miss any.  It can be set to respond as soon as a person comments on a post (or after a delay, if you prefer). The [Comments Autoreply functionality](https://chatfuel.com/blog/how-to-turn-facebook-post-commenters-into-customers) can be used for contests and giveaways, but also to provide more information about the client’s business and their products or services.

<figure><img><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## 2\. Showcase results

Once you’ve established what kind of a problem the business is struggling with, let them know that this is something that can be resolved with a chatbot (instead of with expensive software or by hiring extra people).

If your chatbot development agency already has successful past projects, add these to a portfolio that’s easy to share with your new prospects. Focus on exactly what your prospective client needs, and tell them how you’ve done it successfully for other clients before.

If they’re interested in spending less time responding to messages, for example, tell them how you’ve automated responses for other businesses in the past. In this case, don’t focus on the number of users this other chatbot had, or how many reengage messages you had it send. Instead, highlight the metrics that matter to them: the hours the bot saved your previous client and the lightning-fast response times it helped them achieve.

But what if you’re just getting started in the chat bot marketing industry, and you don’t have any results to back you? In this case, feel free to use our library of case studies to show what bots have achieved for other businesses.

### Popular case studies you might find useful

It would also be useful to build out a simple flow to demo what a Facebook chatbot could look like for your prospect. Then, you can [share the flow](https://youtu.be/QcNZXxdNMR8) so they can interact with it themselves to understand the experience their audience will get to enjoy.

*There are many actionable examples of how to do this in Chatfuel Academy, our four-week online course for agencies. More on this in the last section.*

## 3\. Avoid “tech speak”

Especially during the first conversation, try not to use complex [chatbot terms](https://docs.chatfuel.com/en/articles/4364177-chatfuel-glossary-of-terms-plugins) that your prospect won’t understand (like API, Entry Point, attributes, analytics terms, etc.). Even throwing in just a few without explanation can make the prospect confused and lead them to believe this technology is too complex or advanced for their needs.

Some of our agencies have found that it can be useful to call the chatbot a “virtual assistant” instead. They explain that it’s like an additional team member that can answer questions and send follow-up messages when necessary. That’s just one example of a different phrase you could use to explain the solution to your prospect; it may be helpful to experiment with a few different terms and see what they respond to best.

*Reengaging*, *Comment Acquisition*, and *Flow Builder* are also terms you should stay away from. Instead, get to the crux of what these features do—break it down to the basics. Explain that your chatbot agency can design and build a conversation that will guide their audience through their products/services, respond to questions, and upsell to interested users. Even if you’re explaining a complex concept, break it down into what’s visible to the business owner and explain how it will impact their day-to-day.

<figure><img><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## 4\. Set clear expectations

If you’ve been building chatbots for clients for a while, this is a no-brainer for you. These types of projects require positioning yourself and your chatbot agency as the experts and guiding your client through the process. But if you’re just starting out, there are a few peculiarities you should keep in mind.

For example, in the discovery stage, you need to be on the same page with your client about how long it will take to create their chatbot and how much it will cost. You’ll also want to be very clear about how involved the client needs to be in the process. Do they need to provide you with more information or visual content you’ll be using in the Messenger bot? How much control will you give them when it comes to the content of the chatbot itself?

Finally, don’t forget that a chatbot isn’t a “set it and forget it” kind of tool. Maybe it needs customer support agents standing by [to respond to the more complex questions](https://docs.chatfuel.com/en/articles/849315-live-chat). Maybe it needs sales managers to take over with the qualified leads. It definitely will need regular performance reviews) and flow adjustments. Who will be in charge of the ongoing maintenance in that case? Will you be charging a monthly maintenance fee, or will the client be bringing you in periodically?

Chatfuel Academy has a whole module dedicated to these technical details to help you ensure a smooth chatbot sales process. Our expert instructors cover:

- the best ways to demo the bot to your client

- the safest ways to hand off the chatbot once it’s ready to be launched

- why and how a chatbot development agency should use the white-labeled dashboard

Pitching your chatbot marketing agency's services to a client who doesn't know about bots? Here are four tips to help you close the deal.

How to Pitch Chatbot Services to New Clients

You’re probably already familiar with the [most common uses for chatbots](https://chatfuel.com/blog/top-9-reasons-your-business-needs-a-chatbot/). They can help businesses do things like:

- Answer FAQs instantly, 24/7

- Generate and qualify leads

- Recommend products

- Move shoppers down the funnel

But what many business owners and marketers don’t know is that chatbots can help with other areas of your business too. They can help improve SEO, skyrocket digital ad performance, boost customer retention, and lots more. So whether your business already has a chatbot or you’re considering building one, scroll to learn about several extra perks they can bring to your brand.

## 1\. Chatbots can decrease your website’s bounce rate for SEO

**Bounce rate** is the percentage of a website’s visitors who only visit a single page on the site before leaving. While these statistics don’t count toward your search rankings per se, websites that appear higher on Google do [tend to have lower bounce rates](https://backlinko.com/search-engine-ranking).

Website abandonment is a real issue, especially for online merchants. In fact, the average ecommerce site experiences \[bounce rates [of around 42%](https://www.similarweb.com/corp/blog/bounce-rate/#:~:text=In%20general%2C%20you%20should%20expect,average%20between%2045%25%2D65%25.\)). Why? Because typically, websites with high bounce rates have user experience (UX) issues. Their pages often aren’t intuitively designed, which makes it difficult for visitors to navigate. And if people have to spend too much time trying to find what they want, they’ll simply go elsewhere.

Chatbots can help decrease bounce rates by offering navigation help from the get-go. You can [add a chatbot to your website](https://chatfuel.com/blog/add-a-messenger-chatbot-to-your-website) and set it up to ask questions that get straight to the heart of a customer’s issue. From there, it can point them in the right direction—whether that’s to an information page, a product page, or even [to a live agent.](https://docs.chatfuel.com/en/articles/849315-live-chat)

<figure><img srcset="https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/xs_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_0_fea3344df4/xs_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_0_fea3344df4.webp 300w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/sm_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_0_fea3344df4/sm_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_0_fea3344df4.webp 768w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/md_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_0_fea3344df4/md_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_0_fea3344df4.webp 1280w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/lg_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_0_fea3344df4/lg_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_0_fea3344df4.webp 1920w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/xl_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_0_fea3344df4/xl_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_0_fea3344df4.webp 2650w" width="2650" height="1394" src="https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/original_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_0_fea3344df4/original_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_0_fea3344df4.webp" alt=""><figcaption>Leeds-Beckett University offers a chatbot on their homepage to help visitors navigate the site.</figcaption></figure>

As Nicolina Savelli, Wily Global’s Content and Social Media Marketer, explains: *“\[Chatbots\] dramatically decreased our bounce rate to 2%. \[…\] The option forced users to browse longer and ask questions, rather than bouncing off the page.”*

## 2\. Chatbots can increase session duration for SEO

**Session duration** is the amount of time that people spend on your website before returning to the SERP (search engine results page). Google uses session duration to help rank your website. Longer website sessions, for example, show the algorithm that your website’s information is relevant to the search that led the visitor to it.

[39% of B2B marketers](https://drift.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/2020-State-of-Conversational-Marketing.pdf) already say that conversational marketing techniques like chatbots will increase the time visitors spend on your website. It’s similar to how Messenger bots decrease bounce rate: they can help customers find the information they’re looking for more easily (and maybe some extra information they didn’t know they needed).

Visitors can ask for help on specific problems and chatbots will provide personalized answers that guide users to the correct information. Or, if the visitor isn’t looking to solve a specific problem, chatbots can help increase their session duration by asking them a few questions and recommending relevant content.

## 3\. Chatbots can improve your customer service ratings

For local businesses, reviews are the [third most important ranking factor](https://moz.com/local-search-ranking-factors/) if you want to make the cut for [Google’s Local Pack](https://www.rankranger.com/seo-glossary/local-pack). And even if your business isn’t geared toward local services, reviews still feature as [a top Google ranking factor](https://backlinko.com/google-ranking-factors) since they boost your site’s reputation.

Improving the customer experience is one way to get positive reviews on sites like TrustPilot and Yelp as well as on your Facebook page—and the keys to a great customer experience are **personalization** and **speed**. [88% of marketers](https://www.evergage.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Evergage-2018-Trends-in-Personalization-Survey.pdf) agree that customers have come to expect personalized service. And if it’s not available immediately, they’re likely to abandon your brand for the competition.

Messenger chatbots can improve your customer service in both of these areas. First, thanks to user attributes, bots can personalize the conversation with everything from the user’s name and time zone to preferences they’ve shared in past chats. And, of course, chatbots are available to answer questions instantly, 24 hours a day. [Studies show](https://www.intercom.com/blog/the-state-of-chatbots) that they can boost customer satisfaction by a quarter and speed up response times by 300%.

Look at the HelloFresh chatbot, for example. Their “Freddie FreshBot” [automatically messages customers who leave comments](https://chatfuel.com/blog/how-to-turn-facebook-post-commenters-into-customers) on HelloFresh’s Facebook posts. From there, the bot can answer questions, share coupon codes, and suggest recipes.

<figure><img srcset="https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/xs_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_1_1862743136/xs_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_1_1862743136.webp 300w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/sm_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_1_1862743136/sm_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_1_1862743136.webp 768w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/md_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_1_1862743136/md_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_1_1862743136.webp 1280w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/lg_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_1_1862743136/lg_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_1_1862743136.webp 1920w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/xl_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_1_1862743136/xl_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_1_1862743136.webp 1600w" width="1600" height="1046" src="https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/original_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_1_1862743136/original_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_1_1862743136.webp" alt=""><figcaption>The HelloFresh chatbot has improved the brand's customer service.</figcaption></figure>

The result? HelloFresh’s [response times are down 76%](https://chatfuel.com/blog/hellofresh-reduces-support-wait-times-with-chatfuel-messenger-bot), which leads to lots of satisfied customers, as you can see from the [24,000 five-star reviews](https://www.trustpilot.com/review/hellofresh.com) HelloFresh now has.

## 4\. Chatbot data can inform your content marketing strategy

Content marketing is one of the most powerful ways to improve your search rankings. By identifying important questions that your target audience may have and answering them through great content, you demonstrate the authority and expertise of your brand. By optimizing this content with keywords related to these issues, you push your site up search engine rankings.

While keyword research can certainly help you find out what your customers are searching for, it’s sometimes easier to hear it straight from the horse’s mouth. That’s where chatbots come in, because they can directly learn more about what users need and are looking for through a friendly back-and-forth conversation or quiz. Right now, only [22% of organizations](https://www.intercom.com/blog/the-state-of-chatbots) are using chatbots to collect data. That means 78% are missing a huge opportunity to better inform their content marketing strategies.

<figure><img srcset="https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/xs_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_2_33404982ce/xs_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_2_33404982ce.webp 300w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/sm_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_2_33404982ce/sm_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_2_33404982ce.webp 768w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/md_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_2_33404982ce/md_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_2_33404982ce.webp 1280w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/lg_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_2_33404982ce/lg_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_2_33404982ce.webp 1920w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/xl_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_2_33404982ce/xl_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_2_33404982ce.webp 940w" width="940" height="788" src="https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/original_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_2_33404982ce/original_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_2_33404982ce.webp" alt=""><figcaption>A food blogger could use a chatbot to find out what people are most interested in, and then optimize her blog accordingly.</figcaption></figure>

By collecting chatbot data, you’ll be able to discover the most commonly asked questions and biggest challenges that your customers face. These takeaways can guide your content strategy so that you have a clearer idea of the types of articles, guides, product videos, etc. that your customers will find useful. In turn, you’ll end up ranking higher for key search terms that are relevant to solving problems within your specific target audience.

## 5\. Chatbot data can improve your social media ad performance and ROI

We’ve already discussed how chatbots are great tools for getting to know your customers better. The good news is that this customer data can also help improve the performance of your social media ads. The more you learn about your audience, the more precisely you can target them.

Take Beauty Player, a Taiwan-based ecommerce shop for skincare products. At first, their ads were expensive and underperforming. But then [they launched a chatbot](https://chatfuel.com/blog/beauty-startup-sells-more-with-messenger-bot/) and started gathering data about their users that way. They used that data to create custom and Lookalike audiences for their Facebook ads. The result? The brand reduced their cost per conversion by more than half — from $8.30 to $4.06 —and got a 10x return on ad spend.

<figure><img><figcaption>Learn how to instantly send data about your chatbot users to Facebook Ads Manager to create Lookalike audiences.</figcaption></figure>

## 6\. Chatbots can encourage social sharing

Your social media strategy should strive to increase brand awareness by encouraging your audience to share your content for you. Known as the “snowball effect,” you’ll gain more traction when your fans share your posts since your content will then seen by their audiences too. It’s one of the most effective ways to build brand awareness quickly.

To get this effect started, [build a chatbot](https://youtu.be/D4n6VLQHE5U) that serves a useful purpose to your target audience. Then, encourage them to share the link to the Facebook bot with their friends, who are typically like-minded individuals.

The Taiwanese political party, Can’t Stop This Party, used this technique to great success. Founded by young people, the party wanted to urge other young voters to take part in the election. [They created a Messenger chatbot](https://youtu.be/D4n6VLQHE5U) that educates voters on the issues and reminds them to head to the polls on election day. The helpful, engaging, and interactive bot was a huge success with its initial user base, so those people shared it. As a result, more than 40,000 youth turned out to vote in the elections! That’s the power of social sharing.

<figure><img srcset="https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/xs_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_3_279d60832f/xs_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_3_279d60832f.webp 300w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/sm_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_3_279d60832f/sm_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_3_279d60832f.webp 768w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/md_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_3_279d60832f/md_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_3_279d60832f.webp 1280w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/lg_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_3_279d60832f/lg_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_3_279d60832f.webp 1920w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/xl_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_3_279d60832f/xl_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_3_279d60832f.webp 2080w" width="2080" height="1168" src="https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/original_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_3_279d60832f/original_hidden_benefits_of_chatbots_3_279d60832f.webp" alt=""><figcaption>The chatbot that Can't Stop This Party created to encourage young people to vote was a success, because its initial users shared it with their friends.</figcaption></figure>

## 7\. Chatbots can boost customer retention

Acquiring new customers can get expensive, since it’s common knowledge that you need [eight touch points](https://blog.hubspot.com/sales/the-ultimate-guide-to-prospecting-how-many-touchpoints-when-and-what-type#:~:text=With%20this%20in%20mind%2C%20eight,might%20be%20right%20for%20another.\)) with a prospect before you’ll get the sale. Of course, customer acquisition needs to be a part of every business’s strategy. But retention should be too, since it’s cheaper and more efficient to focus on recapturing past customers who have already proven they liked your product or service.

Netting return customers relies on a range of factors, including how well you know them, how personalized your services are, and how slick your sales process is.

- Let’s consider **personalization** first. Nowadays, [most consumers](https://www.redpointglobal.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/RedPoint-Gaps-in-CX-White-Paper_3.20.19.pdf) expect businesses to personalize their services. That’s why most brands are now using personalization techniques in their customer retention strategies. And, as we’ve discussed, chatbots are ideal for this. In using more personalized customer service interactions like bots, [over half of business leaders](https://info.ada.support/hubfs/Ada%20Content%20Assets/Ada_Forrester%20Opportunity%20Snapshot.pdf?utm_campaign=Forrester%20Ops%20Report&utm_medium=email&_hsmi=72058063&_hsenc=p2ANqtz-_8dT3oFjo4tn0ZHnVAyoxnnQtGBh32IKMbpzmJKYgR-9vP9tI1a8ZL9PFhhl_AHLgxJd_xFFHeUoC_phoeoD6Rfn2FDA&utm_content=72058063&utm_source=hs_automation) have found that they’ve ended up with more loyal customers.

- Secondly, consider the **user** **experience** of your sales process. Is it easy to buy (and buy again) from your brand? Consider that [a third of retailers](http://f9e7d91e313f8622e557-24a29c251add4cb0f3d45e39c18c202f.r83.cf1.rackcdn.com/RTP_RT208_SURV_CustomerAcquisitionRetention_July_2019_Final.pdf) say it’s hard to retain customers due to their long sales cycles. What’s the correlation? It’s simple: Customers don’t want to buy from companies who make it difficult to purchase their products. The process needs to be fast, smooth, and efficient for the shopper.

That’s where chatbots come in again. Messenger bots have the power to ease friction in the buying process, making it easy for customers to buy again. Check out [the story of Photobooth Deluxe](https://chatfuel.com/blog/ecommerce-entrepreneur-uses-chatfuel-bot-to-automate-over-100-000-in-sales/), for example. Recognizing that 95% of its customers came through Facebook, the photobooth company switched out its slow, manual ordering method for a super-efficient Facebook chatbot which can handle the whole process. In doing this, the brand was able to automate over $100,000 of orders within a few months, all because their bot made the repeat-buying process easy for customers.

7 Hidden Benefits of Chatbots for Business

Here are two new use cases for what chatbots can do: They can be tools for freelancer job training and economic development.

Agency Uses Bot to Empower Freelancers & SMBs

## The brand

What’s the one ultra-valuable resource that all insurance brokers and real estate agents depend on? High-intent, high-quality leads, and ideally at an affordable price. Tacobot is a US-based chatbot agency that helps small, local businesses of these types get exactly that.

<figure><img srcset="https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/xs_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_0_3e77dbf9ac/xs_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_0_3e77dbf9ac.webp 300w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/sm_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_0_3e77dbf9ac/sm_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_0_3e77dbf9ac.webp 768w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/md_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_0_3e77dbf9ac/md_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_0_3e77dbf9ac.webp 1280w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/lg_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_0_3e77dbf9ac/lg_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_0_3e77dbf9ac.webp 1920w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/xl_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_0_3e77dbf9ac/xl_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_0_3e77dbf9ac.webp 1651w" width="1651" height="1458" src="https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/original_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_0_3e77dbf9ac/original_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_0_3e77dbf9ac.webp" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## The problem

Every insurance company or real estate business needs a regular influx of leads. Major national brands can afford billboards, TV commercials, direct mail, and other pricey strategies to get them. So how can a local company with a fraction of the sales and marketing budget generate leads?

According to Tacobot co-founder CJ Hutsenpiller, most turn to lead vendors. These are groups that scrape lead information from [web-traffic sources](#) and sell the data to businesses. “The problem with that, ” he explains, “is that the leads are low intent, high priced, and often sold to multiple agencies at once.”

Hutsenpiller always kept a lookout for marketing solutions to this problem. One afternoon, he was watching a Facebook [video ad](https://youtu.be/wiErqy5qMaU) where the host was selling a book. She told viewers to comment to receive a free sample of the first chapter. “I commented, ” he says, “half-expecting to never hear anything. But to my surprise, their bot immediately started communicating with me. I knew right away that I could use this in the insurance space.” As he puts it, **he stumbled on chatbots as a new service for his clients** by “complete dumb luck!”

## The solution

Tacobot offers cheaper way to get higher quality leads than the vendors Hutsenpiller described. His agency provides **pre-built lead-generation chatbots** for clients. “In order to be successful in generating business in the insurance field, you must do more to win a client’s trust, ” he says. “There’s something to be said for the power of being able to have a conversation with a prospect—and that’s what bots allow our clients to do. Immediately when a user enters the funnel, the bot can start building a relationship with them using conversation.”

Tacobot’s carefully designed chatbots help clients start these meaningful conversations with prospects. The chatbot marketing agency’s clients can pay for subscription-based access to a bot “skill, ” as Hutsenpiller calls them. They can choose one or more of the following skills, or functions:

- **Quoting tool for life insurance.** This bot skill generates life-insurance quotes for prospects right in Facebook Messenger. If the user wants to purchase the policy, one click will take them to a pre-filled web application.

- **Quoting tool for home/auto insurance.** The user simply has to answer a few questions. Then the bot pulls information from third-party sources. It combines it with the user’s responses and generates a quote.

- **Rent calculator.** This bot skill is designed for mortgage and real estate professionals. First, it captures how much the user currently pays in rent. Then, it converts it to an estimate of a mortgage payment that amount could sustain. Finally, it’ll show matching house listings in the user’s area.

- **Home-value calculator.** Real estate businesses can also select this chatbot skill. It’ll give prospective home sellers an estimate on the value of their property.

And of course, the chatbots will capture user information for each of the leads that it chats with. That way, the businesses can pursue them personally.

Tacobot also has their own chatbot. It lets clients preview different skills so they can see how each one works. The client can then purchase the skill (s) of their choice right within the bot (see screenshot below). ## The recipe

The Tacobot team relies on these Chatfuel features the most to build effective bots for their clients:

### JSON API

Once a chatbot [gathers a lead’s information](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjxhyddugaA), it has to make it available to the client. From there, the client can pursue the leads personally. Tacobot’s smaller clients use the Notify Admin Via Email or [Send to Google Sheets](https://docs.chatfuel.com/en/articles/2708726-export-data-from-chatfuel-to-google-sheets) for this. But for larger or more advanced clients, Tacobot [uses JSON](https://chatfuel.com/blog/json-api-examples) to send the details to the client’s CRM directly and automatically. Hutsenpiller says they’ve [integrated with CRMs](https://www.jotform.com/what-is-crm/) like Salesforce, BoomTown, JotForm, Mailchimp, and Agency Elephant this way.

### Sequences

[Sequences](https://docs.chatfuel.com/en/articles/908868-sequences) let you schedule follow-up messages from your bot. Sequences are a key component in each of the four bot skills. Let’s say a user starts going through the flow for the rent calculator, or another skill Tacobot chatbots offer. But, halfway through, they get distracted and abandon the process. Tacobot ensures the user will later receive a sequence of messages that remind them to come back and finish the flow. (These messages are sent within the 24-hour window outlined in Facebook’s Messenger policies.)

<figure><img srcset="https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/xs_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_3_4f67825bb3/xs_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_3_4f67825bb3.webp 300w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/sm_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_3_4f67825bb3/sm_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_3_4f67825bb3.webp 768w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/md_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_3_4f67825bb3/md_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_3_4f67825bb3.webp 1280w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/lg_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_3_4f67825bb3/lg_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_3_4f67825bb3.webp 1920w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/xl_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_3_4f67825bb3/xl_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_3_4f67825bb3.webp 940w" width="940" height="788" src="https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/original_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_3_4f67825bb3/original_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_3_4f67825bb3.webp" alt="Tacobot chatbots are equipped with Sequences"><figcaption>Tacobot chatbots are equipped with Sequences to follow up with users who don’t finish the bot’s questionnaire.</figcaption></figure>

### Attributes

User attributes are like tags. They identify a certain preference or characteristic of a bot user. You can create as many custom attributes as you want based on what’s useful for your business. Tacobot clients using the home-insurance quoting skill could have their bot save every user’s zip code as an attribute, for example. The bots can do this automatically via the Save User Input plugin. That way, the client can sort leads by area to assign them to different agents, or to [create retargeting ads](https://docs.chatfuel.com/en/articles/1575719-how-to-create-facebook-and-instagram-ads). They’ll be able to easily sort their leads into segments based on this (or any other attribute) in the [*People* tab](https://docs.chatfuel.com/en/articles/1575151-people-tab).

<figure><img srcset="https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/xs_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_4_c8d02c260a/xs_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_4_c8d02c260a.webp 300w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/sm_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_4_c8d02c260a/sm_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_4_c8d02c260a.webp 768w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/md_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_4_c8d02c260a/md_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_4_c8d02c260a.webp 1280w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/lg_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_4_c8d02c260a/lg_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_4_c8d02c260a.webp 1920w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/xl_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_4_c8d02c260a/xl_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_4_c8d02c260a.webp 607w" width="607" height="301" src="https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/original_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_4_c8d02c260a/original_marketing_agency_uses_messenger_bots_to_deliver_high_quality_leads_for_clients_4_c8d02c260a.webp" alt="save user attributes in Chatfuel chatbots"><figcaption>The Save User Input plugin is one way to save user attributes in Chatfuel.</figcaption></figure>

## The results

“The insurance space as a whole is behind when it comes to anything technology-related—especially digital marketing strategies, ” Hutsenpiller tells us. That’s likely why Tacobot’s chatbots have become the tool of choice for local insurance and real estate businesses in 41 US states. Prospective clients take notice when they hear how Tacobot uses the accessible, affordable technology of Messenger bots to achieve such impressive results.

Tacobot’s clients come from all over the country and from a few different industries. As a result, metrics for their bots vary. But Hutsenpiller says that clients who follow his team’s guidance can expect metrics like these:

- $2-5 per high-quality insurance lead

- Less than $10 per high-intent real estate lead

- $0.10 per conversation

For insurance clients, that’s “drastically cheaper than what they can get with a lead vendor, ” he explains. “Real estate and mortgage are a little harder because of Facebook’s new special ad-category targeting rules, ” he tells us, “but we still generate those for less than $10 each.” Plus, the Chatfuel interface is easy for both the Tacobot team and its clients to use.

“I’ve built bots on both major platforms, ” explains Hutsenpiller, “and I find the structure of Chatfuel to be much easier to use. I also have always gotten great support from the [Chatfuel Community on Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/groups/chatfuel/), and from [the videos by Andrew Demeter](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1_z5c5UnMJ0waRJ8Bx1cFg)—who is an amazing asset to the company.”

## Your agency can “lead” customers to success with Messenger bots

If your marketing agency doesn’t yet offer chatbots as a service, now’s the time to consider it. In these difficult times, meaningful conversations are more important than ever.

Tacobot is a chatbot marketing agency that helps small, local businesses get high-intent, high-quality leads at an affordable price.

Agency Delivers Quality Leads via Messenger Bots

A great product attracts people. And it the support team gets more overwhelmed with a high customer flow. When it comes to e-commerce, the pressure might be even higher because consumers can quickly ask a question and expect a quick response. And if they don’t get it, most likely, they’ll leave. No matter how great the product is.

[3D Mats](https://shop.3dmats.com) is a Taiwanese e-commerce retailer that faced this problem. They design and sell car accessories such as floor mats, sunshades, and roof racks, focusing on constantly innovating and releasing high-quality items for their customers. Looking for a solution, 3D Mats hired GoSky AI agency to build a chatbot for their brand. The bot produced such excellent results for 3D Mats that it won second prize in our 2019 E-commerce Chatbot Competition. Here are a few metrics:

- The yearly average return on ad spend (ROAS) blasts to 999%.
- 47% of customers purchase other recommended products.
- The repurchase rate has climbed to 30%.

Let’s have a look at their journey.

## Busy support team, ineffective both marketing and ads

The 3D Mats support agents spent most of their time answering repetitive common questions. For example, consumers asked about the products, delivery details, and other things that are called FAQs. Of course, answering those is essential, but that meant less time to respond to more complex inquiries, plus longer waiting time for all customers.

Despite communicating with consumers a lot, the 3D Mats team didn’t have a good feel for who their ideal customer was. So, it was hard for them to market effectively. Not understanding their target audience meant their Facebook ads weren’t too successful. Their retargeting ads were getting pricey, even though they weren’t doing much to increase sales for their store.

All these problems took the 3D Mats team to the point where they needed an innovative but inexpensive solution. So, they decided to try automation.

## One chatbot solves three problems

Initially, the GoSky team realized that all these problems were connected. So, they set up a strategy for solving them all and implemented it in their chatbot for 3D Mats. “Chatfuel Dashboard is very stable and trust-worthy. It brings an enjoyable user experience to the bot builder and the bot users, ” Dora Tseng from GoSky AI explains why they chose Chatfuel for this and other projects.

Let’s look at how the GoSky team broke down the task into three steps and used powerful Chatfuel tools and plugins for each problem.

### 1\. Automating FAQs and product recommendation

3D Mats shared that most of the FAQs they receive from the comments. So, the GoSky team used a Comments Autoreply feature in their Chatfuel automation. A chatbot can send a private message to all commenters or only those who used a specific keyword in their comment. This rule can be applied to all posts or only particular ones. If you already use Chatfuel automation, you can set the Comments Autoreply feature and check the FAQ templates in your [Dashboard](https://dashboard.chatfuel.com).

### 2\. Understanding the audience

[Click-to-Messenger ads](https://chatfuel.com/blog/create-click-to-messenger-ads-to-drive-traffic-to-your-bot). Tseng calls this feature and chatbots “a perfect match because they lead right to the chatbot, avoiding necessary redirect.” GoSky AI used bot links to make this process even smoother. For example, when users click a product ad, a link takes them to that part of the bot containing information about that product. That way, users find what they need in one click, so conversion rates increase.

[Save to Google Sheets plugin.](https://docs.chatfuel.com/en/articles/2708726-export-data-from-chatfuel-to-google-sheets) The 3D Mats chatbot quizzes users about their car and needs. It automatically exports their answers to a Google Sheet. A human agent then checks the responses, finds the right product for the user’s car, and sends them the store link to it via Live Chat. The GoSky team plans to automate the whole product recommendation process to save even more time.

### 3\. Improving the ad campaigns

[Lookalike audiences](https://docs.chatfuel.com/en/articles/1575719-how-to-create-facebook-and-instagram-ads). On Facebook, you can target new people who are most likely to be interested in your ad — and most likely to convert. Chatfuel users have access to this data in the People tab. They can export it to Facebook and use it in their ads.

A/B Test plugin. GoSky AI used this feature for the brand’s holiday campaign to find the most effective way to send a promo code to users. They tried three options: sending it immediately, sending it later via [sequences](https://docs.chatfuel.com/en/articles/908868-sequences), and sharing it with a countdown timer. The results showed that the Sequence flow worked best, as it got them the most conversions. They used that method for all future users and **increased monthly sales by 29%**!

## Beyond expectations

Eventually, the 3D Mats team had much more time because the automation was now instantly responding to common questions. Once a Chatfuel bot starts a conversation with a new user, it saves their profile information in the [People tab](https://docs.chatfuel.com/en/articles/1575151-people-tab). The more new users the 3D Mats chatbot interacted with, the more data the team had to analyze. That insight allowed them to solve their second problem. Eventually, 3D Mats was able to run better ads and produce more relevant content, helping solve the third problem. The bot GoSky built help solved 3D Mats’ problems and accomplish their goals:

1. The chatbot’s FAQs function and quiz feature have **reduced repetitive inquiries by 70%**. Once they automate the entire process, GoSky estimates that number will jump to 95%! The 3D Mats support team already has much more time to spend on other tasks, and that time will only increase.
2. Suggesting products has been a super effective function of the bot, too. 47% of customers now also purchase other recommended products. 3D Mats’ **repurchase rate has climbed to 30%**. The bot personalizes the service and [keeps customers coming back](https://chatfuel.com/blog/customer-loyalty-chatbot).
3. The audience data that the 3D Mats chatbot gathered gave their Facebook ad performance a significant boost. Their yearly average return on ad spend **(ROAS) is now 999%**.

Agency Gets 999% ROAS with a Messenger Bot

According to the Great Resignation research, 65% of global hiring organizations have lost their preferred candidate because the recruitment process was too long. The main reason is pretty simple: HR managers are very busy. HR professionals spend a lot of time on:

- interviewing,

- sorting out candidate applications,

- responding to their repetitive questions,

- finding slots for interviews and rescheduling,

- sending follow-up messages.

The good news is that managers can automate some of the routine processes and focus on interviewing and preparing offers for the most suitable candidates. For example, a Facebook Messenger automation can accept and sort applications and schedule interviews. You can even integrate your bot with Facebook Jobs to automatically follow up with applicants.

In this article, we’ll look at recruitment Messenger automation, share some tips on building one yourself and show some inspiring metrics from our clients.

## Integrating with Facebook Jobs

Facebook has almost 2.5 billion monthly active users. Odds are your next great employee already spends time on the platform, so it makes sense to search for them there via [Facebook Jobs](https://www.facebook.com/business/pages/post-job). It lets you post jobs on your Business Bage, receives and review applications, and contact prospects via Messenger. Or, your Messenger automation can do it for you.

You can set up different automated responses to candidates. For example, confirm their application has been received or tell them about the following interview. Here’s how to set it up:

1. **Turn on the automated response.** Go to your Facebook Business Page → Messenger inbox → Automated Responses, then select Messenger. A section called *Communicate about your jobs* will appear there, and you’ll see the option to turn on an application received.

2. **Write a message your bot will send.** Keep it brief but helpful and informative. Include details about timelines or next steps, so the candidate knows what to expect.

3. **Add a button** (optional). You can include a button to go along with the message. It can link to a URL, like a page on your website where they can learn more about your company. A button can also redirect to a block in your bot, for example, FAQs or a quiz about the company.

## How chatbots streamline recruitment process

Facebook Messenger chatbots can simplify the recruitment process for both employees and job seekers.

Here’s what chatbots can do:

### Collect information from candidates

With Chatfuel’s Save User Input plugin, your chatbot can accept contact details, CVs, and other materials from applicants. You can store this data as user attributes in Chatfuel’s People tab for simple searching and sorting. Also, you can export this data to a Google Sheet for analysis or candidate ranking.

### Ask screening questions

Your bot can ask applicants any number of qualifying questions related to experience, skills, or location. You can even have your bot email an applicant’s information to an HR manager if they pass all the qualifying questions. Then, the manager can follow up with the most suitable candidates personally.

### Answer FAQs 24/7

HR managers no longer have to spend time answering common questions. Automation is excellent at responding to FAQs about the job or hiring process. Plus, bots are available 24/7.

### Schedule interviews

In Chatfuel, you can use Zapier templates to integrate your calendar or scheduling system with your bot. It allows users to sign up for an interview, reschedule or cancel it right in your bot. All changes will reflect on your calendar. You can also set up automated reminders, and your bot will notify users when their turn is coming up.

Finally, a recruitment chatbot also creates a convenient experience for the applicants by answering their questions and providing an engaging and instant form of communication. So no matter how big or small your business or department, automation can help you stand out from other companies competing for the same talent.

## Tips for optimizing your recruitment chatbot

Follow these best practices to maximize the efficiency of your HR bot:

- **Get creative.** [Give it a name](https://chatfuel.com/blog/chatbot-names) and persona and make it friendly. Include GIFs and emojis if appropriate for a more engaging and welcoming experience.

- **Create different conversational flows for different applicants.** Maybe entry-level applicants have an extra task to do before making it to the interview process. Or perhaps senior-level applicants get a direct invitation interview sooner.

- **Include FAQs.** Collect the most common questions from applicants and equip your bot with answers to those. Include as much helpful information as possible, like the office address, notes on team culture, and details about perks and benefits.

- **Be ready to step in.** You may want to have time window each day when a human HR agent is available. With the [Live Chat plugin](https://docs.chatfuel.com/en/articles/849315-live-chat), an agent can jump in to answer complex or personalized questions if the bot ever gets stuck.

- **Connect your bot to Facebook ads.** If you’re using Facebook ads to promote your job openings, connect your bot to engage immediately and even qualify anyone who clicks on one. That way, you can get more qualified candidates.

Chatbots are great for recruitment but can be used once employees are hired. A Messenger bot can help with onboarding, training, and employee retention. Set yours up with FAQs about the employee handbook, for example. Or, equip it to send company-wide alerts and reminders about things like holidays and meetings.

## Chatfuel bot builders share their experience on HR bots

Let’s look at a particular example of an HR chatbot in action. “We set it up for recruiters, so they can save time and streamline to the top leads faster, ” says the Social Media Advertising Manager of the marketing agency that built the bot. It’s geared towards those looking for truck driving jobs in the US. It answers FAQs about openings and the application process and can search for available positions instantly.

Messenger Chatbot for Recruiting & HR

Here at Chatfuel, we love to talk about how Messenger chatbots can benefit your business. We’ve talked about bots for brands in the [beauty space](https://chatfuel.com/blog/messenger-chatbot-for-salon-or-beauty-business), real estate, and even in the [agriculture industry](https://chatfuel.com/blog/chatbots-for-farmers-and-agriculture-businesses). Today, however, we’re digging into a use case that’s even closer to home: **a chatbot for your very own personal brand**.

## How personal Messenger bots work

Think of it this way: A personal chatbot can be equipped with the same content as your personal website. The difference is that the bot will deliver it in a more engaging, modern way — in a conversational style via Messenger. The only requirement is that you have a [Facebook page (not just a profile)](https://www.facebook.com/help/337881706729661?helpref=faq_content) to connect to the bot. From there, the applications for your bot are nearly endless!

<figure><img src="https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/original_personal_chatbots_0_400dd23b36/original_personal_chatbots_0_400dd23b36.webp" alt="facebook page" height="854" width="2000" blurdataurl="data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAAAQAAAACCAIAAADwyuo0AAAACXBIWXMAABCcAAAQnAEmzTo0AAAAJUlEQVR4nAEaAOX/AMrQ1C9MWhwAAIiMjwD6/P3Fu7bQwLn09PSpsQ9RA043hgAAAABJRU5ErkJggg==" placeholder="blur" srcset="https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/xs_personal_chatbots_0_400dd23b36/xs_personal_chatbots_0_400dd23b36.webp 300w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/sm_personal_chatbots_0_400dd23b36/sm_personal_chatbots_0_400dd23b36.webp 768w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/md_personal_chatbots_0_400dd23b36/md_personal_chatbots_0_400dd23b36.webp 1280w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/lg_personal_chatbots_0_400dd23b36/lg_personal_chatbots_0_400dd23b36.webp 1920w, https://storage.googleapis.com/chatfuel-cms-staging/pic/xl_personal_chatbots_0_400dd23b36/xl_personal_chatbots_0_400dd23b36.webp 2000w"><figcaption>This is Katy Perry's Facebook page. (On the left you'll see a green button to "Create a Page" for yourself.)</figcaption></figure>

A great start would be to build your bot to [answer frequently asked questions](https://chatfuel.com/blog/chatbot-for-customer-service) about you, your personal brand, or your career. You can look at the questions you already receive via Messenger to know which FAQ answers to add. Plus, if users end up asking questions about you that your bot is *not*equipped to answer, you still benefit. You’ve now established a sort of feedback system, and you can learn from the data on what people want to know about you. (Or, you can equip your chatbot with artificial intelligence (AI) so it can respond to all questions.)

A personal bot can perform many other practical functions, too. It can share fun facts about you and your brand, or your recommendations for playlists, recipes, or articles. Your bot can allow users to book appointments or sessions with you in a few taps. It could even share your CV or portfolio for recruiters and potential employers, or link to your playlists on Spotify, your designs on Pinterest, your tweets, your posts on Medium, or content on any other social network.

## What a personal bot can do for you

No matter what you want users to learn or take away from an interaction with you, a personal bot can help. They can be educational, entertaining, promotional, or all of the above. Bots are completely customizable for your unique, personal brand.

You can use a personal bot to:

- **Acquire new users and followers 👥** If you receive positive engagement on your page posts, bring those users to your bot! With Chatfuel, it’s easy to [convert post commenters into bot users](https://chatfuel.com/blog/how-to-turn-facebook-post-commenters-into-customers). Once they subscribe, you have a direct way to communicate with your audience, one on one.
- **Promote products or services 🛍️** [Reengage messages](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJuUOcwdGzA&t=5s) are perfect for keeping your audience in the loop with your latest product offerings, too. For example, an author who launches a new book could send a message to their subscribers, sharing the news and offering a link to purchase. Reengage messages can be sent for free [within 24 hours](https://docs.chatfuel.com/en/articles/5627483-types-of-reengage-messages#h_b8201a2718) of a user’s last interaction with your bot, or at any time via paid [sponsored message.](https://chatfuel.com/blog/sponsored-messages-guide-to-reengaging-chatbot-subscribers)**‍**
- **Learn about your audience.** The [*People* tab](https://docs.chatfuel.com/en/articles/1575151-people-tab) in Chatfuel allows you to identify and segment the users who have interacted with your bot. Its robust functionalities allow you to use it as a“mini CRM” to study and keep track of your audience. You can even export user information to Facebook in one click to create custom ad audiences.

## Who can benefit from a personal chatbot

The great news is that most anyone who wants to communicate with and grow their audience can benefit from a chatbot assistant. Celebrities, public figures, athletes, and influencers, doctors, lawyers, scientists, and journalists, and even chefs, freelancers, singers, and bloggers—any of these professionals could use a bot to grow their business or influence. Besides having a Facebook page, the only requirement to build a personal bot is that you have content to share with an audience!

A chatbot personality works equally well for brands and individuals. Bots have many functionalities that allow you to promote and sell to users, but they can also be used simply to inform or entertain. Virtually anything you might put on a personal website can be easily translated into content for a chatbot.

## Chatfuel clients utilizing personal bots

Whether you have your own business, are looking for a job, or just want to share some type of content with family and friends, a bot is an engaging, cutting-edge way to do it all. Here at Chatfuel, we have clients using bots for all kinds of personal brands and applications. Visit a few for inspiration:

## Tips for building your own personal chatbot

Ready to create a personal chatbot? Here are a few things to keep in mind:

- **Set your goals 💫**What do you want your chatbot to help you achieve? Is it just to entertain your family and friends, to build your career, or to promote your business? Once you pinpoint your motives, it’ll be easier to design the structure and tone of your bot.
- **Choose your content 💬** The whole purpose of a bot is to share content in a new and engaging way, so this step is the most important. Decide what your bot will be offering users, whether it’s biographical facts and information, inspirational stories or case studies, or links to your work or resources elsewhere on the web.
- **Curate your bot’s personality 😎** Your bot is an extension of you and your personal brand, so make sure it accurately [reflects your persona](https://chatfuel.com/blog/chatbot-names). Will your bot be funny, or serious? An expert, or a relatable family person? You can communicate your personality with the words your bot uses, the questions it asks, and any jokes, gifs, or photos it may share too.
- **Think of the user 👤** What benefit do users get by chatting with your bot? Messenger bots are an interesting and innovative new technology, but they’re of no use to you if they don’t add value to your users. Make sure to begin with your end result in mind.
