### 1\. What do you see as your primary mission as HR Director, and how do you measure success in your position?

As an HR Director, my primary mission is to foster an environment where employees can thrive while feeling at ease. I aim to ensure each team member feels valued, motivated, and engaged in our company's processes. I gauge my success through employee satisfaction and our company's ability to achieve its goals through coordinated teamwork. Ultimately, I feel most successful when colleagues approach me with genuine gratitude for the support and effective collaboration we've shared.

### 2\. Working with people can be challenging. What drew you to this career? What aspects of it do you find most rewarding? What core values shaped your professional path?

Working with people can be challenging, but that's exactly what makes my job so fascinating and meaningful. I'm drawn to the opportunity to impact lives, foster growth, and help others achieve their goals. Each day brings new interactions, complex problem-solving, and the satisfaction of seeing how my efforts contribute to the growth of both my colleagues and the company. It's truly inspiring.

The core principles I've always prioritized are respect, empathy, and honesty. I believe that support and trust are essential elements in working with people.

### 3\. Do you think it's necessary to artificially foster team spirit and employee motivation, or do these develop naturally in a strong team? Can motivation, loyalty, and team spirit be created from scratch, or are they primarily a response to the company's atmosphere?

Maintaining team spirit and employee motivation is crucial. Even in a well-assembled team, tensions or problems can arise, and without timely support and attention, these issues may escalate into more serious difficulties. Motivation and team spirit stem not only from careful selection of team members but also from the atmosphere cultivated within the company. Therefore, it's essential to continuously work on strengthening these aspects.

While motivation or loyalty can't be artificially imposed, they can be nurtured. These qualities develop organically in response to the company's atmosphere, interactions with colleagues, and management style. The company's atmosphere and culture, however, can and should be consciously shaped. By creating the right conditions, we foster an environment where motivation and loyalty naturally emerge and thrive.

### 4\. What defines a successful team for you, and how does the HR department foster such a team at Chatfuel?

For me, a successful team is a group of individuals who collaborate effectively, cohesively, and enthusiastically. They not only achieve their goals but do so with enjoyment and mutual respect. At Chatfuel, our HR team fosters such an environment through transparency, consistent feedback, encouragement of initiatives, and active involvement in shaping our corporate culture.

### 5\. How do you maintain work-life balance?

For me, work-life balance is a conscious approach to time management. When working remotely, it's easy to blur the lines between professional and personal hours, but I strive to maintain clear boundaries between these areas. A key element in preserving this balance is sports. Regular workouts help me relieve stress and sustain my energy levels.

### 6\. What it takes for a candidate to be a perfect fit for Chatfuel? Any advice for newcomers?

The ideal candidates for Chatfuel are driven and energetic individuals. We appreciate those who tackle tasks with enthusiasm and aren't hesitant to suggest fresh ideas. It's crucial that they communicate effectively with the team and contribute to a friendly, productive atmosphere.

**Advice for newcomers:** Show initiative and energy from day one. Your drive and desire to move forward will not only help you stand out but also make you a valuable member of our team. Be ready to learn, grow, and confidently present your ideas—this is exactly what we value at Chatfuel.

That's a wrap on our chat with Tatyana, but we have more interviews lined up with other members of the Chatfuel team, each ready to share their unique insights and experiences. Stay tuned for the next episode of our interview series!

In our interview series, we introduce you to the people behind Chatfuel who make things happen. Behind the digital products and services you rely on daily,.

Meet Chatfuel: Tatyana, Our HR Director

Starting a new job is exciting. But it can be a bit stressful, too.

At Chatfuel, we've developed an inclusive and friendly onboarding process to ensure our new teammates feel welcome from day one, quickly get up to speed, and build connections with colleagues. Here's how we do it at Chatfuel.

### Step 1: Welcome document

On the first day, we send a special welcome document to the new hire to give them a strong head start. It includes initial feedback from hiring managers, introduces the team, and provides an overview of our processes and tools.

### Step 2: Product onboarding

Newcomers undergo product onboarding, which involves creating their chatbot from start to finish. This helps them understand the product deeply and experience its benefits firsthand.

### Step 3: Regular check-ins

We regularly meet with new hires one-on-one to see how they feel and support them if needed.

### Step 4: Daily and weekly meetings

New employees join their team's daily stand-ups and general meetings in the first few days. During their first week, we introduce them to our company-wide demo meeting and warmly welcome them.

This simple approach helps us to integrate newcomers efficiently, making them feel valued and part of our company culture from day one.

## First-person stories: what our newcomers say about their onboarding and adaptation experience

When I joined the team, I was warmly welcomed. In the first month, we had two meetings. The first was an introduction where I got to know everyone on the Support team. The second meeting was a "party meeting," which was fun because we played Kahoot and learned more about each other.

My adaptation process was quite fast and adaptable. Chatfuel's comprehensive work structure for each area of the business, particularly for support, is perfectly designed to guide you in completing your tasks accurately.  The tools available are easily understood, and communication was key in adapting quickly. My teammates were always willing to help me, making the adaptation process great and much easier.

Initially, I felt a bit shy, but everyone felt the same when starting in a new place. However, my teammates were the best you could ask for—not only because they were so helpful but also because of their personalities.

The product onboarding was indeed a bit challenging at first. My first attempt at using the chatbot was less than ideal; I struggled to understand how to create a simple one. But thankfully, we have a robust onboarding process that covers the basics of Chatfuel and customer support. I spent a lot of time reading in the first weeks, and after about a month, I started to grasp everything about Chatfuel bots.

When I joined the team at Chatfuel, I felt welcome right away. Everyone was friendly, making my start easy and nice. I love my team; they are kind and always ready to help.

I began by learning how everything worked, reading the knowledge base, and shadowing my coworkers to better understand everything. The product onboarding was a bit overwhelming due to the amount of information. But with practice, it got easier, and I eventually got the hang of it.

When I started working, what really stood out was that work was finally interesting; only my first job felt like that. The team welcomed me warmly, making sure I got to know everyone. Overall, people were quite sociable, which made the transition smoother.

My adaptation process was pretty easy. There was plenty of documentation and code to refer to, which helped a lot. It was great to talk with Fedor, the Chatfuel CEO, and my team, especially Igor and Nick, were very helpful. Honestly, I felt comfortable and part of the team right away.

My first most vivid memory of starting work at Chatfuel is when I was added to the kudos channel in Slack. It's a place where everyone can shout and praise colleagues for a job well done. I was amazed to be in a place where people give public praise. It makes everyone feel seen and appreciated, which is very inspiring.

Of course, I was nervous about getting along with my teammates because I was joining a team that had been working without me for a while. Some time was spent getting to know each other, but I fit in pretty fast. Thanks to my awesome, friendly, and thoughtful colleagues, it was a smooth process.

## Wrapping up

So here are the key ingredients for successful newcomer adaptation: provide essential information, ensure hands-on experience with the product, and conduct regular check-ins to help new teammates get off to a great start. Our team members' stories prove this approach works. By fostering a welcoming atmosphere and teamwork, we're making Chatfuel a place where everyone can open up and make an impact.

In our HR posts series, we welcome you to explore our internal culture and the values that drive our team at Chatfuel. Starting a new job is exciting.

4 Steps to Integrate Newcomers: Firsthand Stories

At Chatfuel, we pride ourselves on fostering a work environment that not only ensures productivity but also promotes a healthy work-life balance. One of the ways we achieve this is through our flexible working hours policy. Here's a closer look at how this policy works and why it benefits our amazing team.

### 1\. Global team, different time zones

Our team members are scattered across the globe, from Brazil and California to Georgia and Thailand. The time zone differences can be vast, and we understand that a one-size-fits-all approach to working hours simply wouldn't work for us. By embracing flexible working hours, we allow our employees to work when it suits them best, accommodating their local time zones and personal schedules.

### 2\. Choose your own start and end times

In our company, we don't have a set start or end time for the workday. Each team member is free to choose their own working hours. The key is to ensure that there's always a convenient time for team meetings. This flexibility means that whether you're an early bird or a night owl, you can work during the hours when you're most productive.

### 3\. Focus on team collaboration

While everyone can start their workday at a time that suits them, it's crucial to maintain the ability to find a common time for team meetings. We're not micromanaging every detail of our employees' workdays; instead, we build our working relationships on trust. This approach allows us to come together when needed and collaborate effectively without the constraints of rigid schedules.

### 4\. Valuing independence and responsibility

We place a high value on the independence and responsibility of our employees when it comes to planning their work schedules. By trusting our team members to manage their time, we empower them to take ownership of their tasks and deliver excellent results. This trust-based system not only enhances productivity but also boosts morale and job satisfaction.

### 5\. The benefits of flexible working hours

Research has shown that flexible working hours help employees remain more productive and maintain a high level of work-life balance. According to a study by Shagvaliyeva and Yazdanifard (*"Impact of flexible working hours on work-life balance."*, *American Journal of Industrial and Business Management 2014),* flexible working hours can significantly improve an employee's ability to balance their professional and personal lives. At Chatfuel, we've seen these benefits firsthand. Our team members report higher productivity levels, reduced stress, and a better overall quality of life.

## Wrapping up

In conclusion, our flexible working hours policy is more than just a perk; it's a crucial part of our company culture. By allowing our team to work when they're at their best, we create an environment where everyone can thrive. We're committed to supporting our employees in achieving a harmonious work-life balance, and flexible working hours are a big part of that commitment.

In our HR posts series, we welcome you to explore our internal culture and the values that drive our team at Chatfuel. At Chatfuel, we pride ourselves on.

Meet Chatfuel: Manuel, Customer Success Lead

We’re excited to announce the launch of Fuely AI, an autonomous and flexible AI agent from Chatfuel built on OpenAI’s models.

From first inquiry to post-purchase updates, Fuely AI streamlines and enhances each stage of your customer and prospect journeys, ultimately helping to scale your business and grow sales.

## What is Fuely AI?

Fuely AI is an AI model created by Chatfuel. It's based on OpenAI's models and is enhanced with real-world insights from messages we process and our expertise in marketing and sales.

Fuely AI has a range of skills that can be used in various combinations. Additionally, it integrates with multiple platforms such as Stripe, Shopify, Zapier, Calendly, Google Sheets, and more.

### Truly autonomous AI agent

Ordinary AI agents aren't flexible as they strictly follow set patterns. When the conversation deviates from the established script, they can’t adapt due to a lack of conditional features.

Fuely AI features a Connectors tab where you can set rules or conditions for the agent’s actions. For example, you could establish a rule like "user is angry" and direct Fuely AI to connect these users to a live chat. Now, if the agent identifies that the user is about to blow up, it will automatically redirect them to talk with a real person.

Connectors allow Fuely AI to cover a wider range of scenarios, enhancing its efficiency and providing an optimal experience for your customers and prospects. Learn more about setting up Connectors [here](https://docs.chatfuel.com/en/articles/9173087-how-to-configure-your-ai-agent).

## What can Fuely AI do for you?

As mentioned, Fuely AI has various skills. You can use one or mix and match a few in different combinations—you name it. Let’s have a look at what exactly Fuely AI can do for you.

### Appointments booking

One of Fuely AI's skills is facilitating easy and convenient appointment booking through messaging platforms. It provides personalized options and effective scheduling for your consultations.

### Customer support

Empowered with the customer support skill, Fuely AI can serve as a first-line support agent. It can answer frequently asked questions and redirect inquiries to different teams, such as sales and marketing.

### Classification of incoming inquiries

Another skill allows Fuely AI to categorize client inquiries based on topic or interest, directing them to the relevant automated service.

### Leads qualification

Fuely AI can also efficiently qualify leads based on predetermined criteria and forward them to your sales team.

### Sales

Additionally, Fuely AI, our [AI sales tool](https://chatfuel.com/blog/ai-sales-tools/), can act as a sales agent, recommending products to your customers and assisting with order placement..

### Custom skill

Lastly, a custom skill for Fuely AI can be developed using the ChatGPT API. This allows for the creation of prompts and receipt of responses from ChatGPT. Furthermore, you can add up to five AI Connectors for your custom skill to enable Fuely AI to act depending on specific conditions.

### 1\. What's it like being a product designer at Chatfuel?

Sometimes, I feel like a cool paratrooper, zipping from one project to the next while I’m expected to quickly comprehend tasks and complete them efficiently. Once in a while, it’s hard to clear my mind and switch from projects I've wrapped up, but the kudos I get totally make it worth it. In a nutshell, it's a pretty dynamic role.

### 2\. What are the primary challenges in product design today, and how do you tackle them?

First off, simply creating a well-functioning product is not enough anymore. It's also necessary to build an emotional connection with customers. While faceless corporate systems may excel in functionality, loyalty is won by those who have a recognizable style, tone of voice, and engaging communication. The products we often consider cool always offer a little extra something: fun animation when a user finishes a task, a sweet card from the person who packed your order, or a real, heartfelt “sorry” when something goes wrong. Caring and showing care for the customers is the key to getting people to remember you and come back for more.

Next up, I observe the evolution of AI and the fluctuating hype around it and identify practical, real-world benefits it may offer. I'm also all ears when it comes to discussion of legal norms in the AI field. This could potentially cause an increase in the cost of human labor and, contrary to predictions of widespread job losses, could actually reinforce the role of the designer.

### 3\. What features of Chatfuel do you think are the most unique and appealing to users?

Besides the functionality, it’s definitely our rockstar support team. Plus, we're making great strides in branding and communication lately. We’re also almost done with some technical improvements getting in the way of us doing awesome stuff, and I'm pretty pumped about all the exciting things we’re about to do.

### 4\. What principles do you follow when interacting with other team members?

The first and most important rule is to fulfill your commitments by the specified deadline. If I’m falling behind, I make sure to give a heads-up in advance.

The second point is to not be scared to have a discussion. We're all here to do our best and figure out the best way forward, right? So, we must look at the problem we’re trying to solve from every angle and talk it out.

The third is to show appreciation to your teammates for their help and good work.

### 5\. How do you keep growing in your career? Any tips for staying in the loop with the latest industry trends and approaches?

Product design and its levels have become such vague concepts that the criteria for professional advancement are similarly unclear. If you were to ask ten different companies why they need product designers and how the responsibilities vary between levels, you'd end up with a confusing mix of responses.

First, I aim to expand my expertise horizontally and acquire more related skills. For example, to be able to spot the difference between good and not-so-good UI text and suggest ways to make it better, come up with an idea of how things can be put together in layout or data architecture, or run user tests.

Secondly, I observe the digital products I use daily, noting their direction and the engaging mechanics they employ. I particularly enjoy dissecting products that irritate me to understand what exactly might have gone wrong and how it could have been avoided.

And thirdly, I'm keeping an eye out for the emergence of fundamentally new user interfaces and their practical implications in helping people solve their daily tasks.

### 6\. How do you manage your resources, hobbies, and work-life balance amidst a busy schedule? Any particular strategy for energy replenishment?

My recipe for balance includes therapy, large personal projects, friendships, and sports. It's all about discipline, making sure I don't slack off in any part of my life. Since motivation can fluctuate, it's super important to be able to give myself that extra nudge to hit the gym, shut the laptop after work, and go out for an art show. I remind myself that chill time is a must if I want to stay productive.

### 7\. How do you interpret corporate values, and how do they influence your day-to-day work?

I'm not particularly interested in slogans, what really gets me going is their practical implications. Can I do my job and pursue my ambitions? Are the team's goals clear and do their their actions align? Am I getting a fair shake for my work and do I feel supported? So, unless the slogans aren’t telling us to do bad stuff, they don't bother me one bit.

### 8\. What excites you the most about our company?

My teammates.

### 9\. What advice would you give new hires for a smoother integration into our company culture?

Remain true to yourself, keep an open mind, try to have fun, and always do your best.

That's a wrap on our chat with Nick, but we have more interviews lined up with other members of the Chatfuel team, each ready to share their unique insights and experiences. Stay tuned for the next episode of our interview series!

In our interview series, we introduce you to the people behind Chatfuel who make things happen. The easiest and most intuitive chatbot solution out there,.

Meet Chatfuel: Nick, Our Product Designer

Some may wonder why companies would need salespeople if their products are really that mind-blowingly amazing. Well, we cannot vouch for others, but at Chatfuel, our sales executive conveys our product's awesomeness to customers and makes them go "Wow!".

Meet Kyle, our Sales Executive. In his interview, he talks about a book that changed his life and shares inspiring stories about his journey at Chatfuel. He also provides a couple of tips to efficiently balance work from home with life outside of work. Dive right in!

### 1\. What was your initial experience with chatbots, and what drew you to this field?

Honestly, I had pretty much zero experience with chatbots when I joined Chatfuel almost 5 years ago. I of course had used them as a consumer, but had never explored this rapidly growing industry from a professional standpoint. My previous experience was in SaaS sales but not with chatbots or AI.

### 2\. In your opinion, what are the key features and advantages of our chatbots that are crucial for successful sales?

What I really love about our platform is that anyone can learn how to build and deploy successful chatbot funnels. We're a no-code platform, so beginners can leverage our solution. At the same time, we have open APIs that allow experienced developers to create complex integrations and cool user experiences. We also offer very affordable self-service plan options and enterprise plans. However, we don't require any long-term contracts or commitments from our customers. Now, having our ChatGPT integration built into the product, which is fully customizable and available at no additional cost, is a game-changer!

### 3\. How do you successfully replenish and maintain resources within a demanding schedule, including hobbies and passions? How do you manage your work-life balance?

I'm more productive working from home, so Chatfuel was a great fit in that sense. I'm locked in Monday - Friday from 8 am - 5 pm but try to stay away from my computer outside of normal work hours or on the weekends. I don't even have my email account connected on my phone, but I do have Slack in case any emergencies arise and are needed.

While working, I always try to complete my most important tasks first each day, even if they are the more complex tasks that I'm dreading getting started on. I learned this years ago after reading a book called "Eat that Frog," which changed my life, and I highly recommend reading it if you haven't already.

### 4\. How do you perceive the alignment of corporate values with your day-to-day work in chatbot sales?

Our corporate values must be aligned with our sales team, as we are frontline employees communicating with our potential customers on a daily basis. Integrity is the most critical to me personally because I must clearly understand your business needs and the problems you are trying to solve by implementing chatbot automation before I can recommend our services to you. We must promote transparency in communication regarding both the capabilities and limitations of our platform.

### 5\. What specifically about our company inspires or appeals to you the most?

The people! We have such a diverse group of professionals from all around the world who work so well together. This is the first startup I’ve ever worked for, and being able to have a voice in the direction of the company and to be valued even as an individual contributor is very rewarding. Being able to adapt to change and adjust to new approaches is key. Lastly, I’m grateful that we have such a strong leadership team here at Chatfuel.

### 6\. What advice would you offer to new employees for more successful integration into the corporate environment?

Don't be afraid to speak up! In a startup environment, everyone is critical to the company's success. Whether you have new ideas, want to question current processes, or maybe just aren't sure how something works, please reach out to your colleagues or supervisor. Everyone is here to help.
