TikTok Comment Autoreply

Fuely AI can automatically reply under comments on your TikTok videos. Comments are one of the TikTok sources in Automations: the source has a permanent base automation that can answer every comment, and on top of it you can add up to 30 custom automations — named keyword rules with their own replies.

Note: TikTok comment automations send a Public reply only — the answer visible under the comment. Unlike Instagram and Facebook, there is no private-reply setting, because TikTok doesn't allow DMing someone based on their comment. For DM automation, see the TikTok automations overview.

How replies are chosen

• The base automation is the catch-all: it answers any comment that no custom rule catches, adapting each reply to the comment using your instructions and knowledge base. Like every base, it starts off.
• Main bot must be on as well — it is the master switch, and while it is off no comment gets a reply.
• Custom automations react to keywords. A rule can match the exact comment text, comments that contain the keyword, or any comment. Each rule has its own Public reply. A new custom automation starts off and replies only after you turn it on.
• To keep the base silent so only your keyword rules answer, turn the base off — or leave it on and set its Public reply to Don't reply. Setting Incoming messages to Don't reply is not enough for comments: a fixed-text public reply still goes out, while AI-written replies stop. Each rule can set its own Public reply; until you set it, it inherits the base's.

If the commenter then writes to you in DMs, the comment automation that replied keeps answering them with AI, following its own Incoming messages, When AI replies and other settings, until about a day passes after its last reply. If you turn that automation off, the base automation of the comments source answers instead, if it's on. When the settings keep the AI quiet — Incoming messages is Don't reply, or it's within working hours and When AI replies is Outside working hours — the AI hands the chat to your team; your direct-messages automation does not step in. After that day, DMs go to the direct-messages automation, if it's on.

When several rules could match the same comment, a priority order picks the winner: exact keyword beats contains, which beats catch-all, and custom rules beat the base.

Set it up in Automations

1. Go to Fuely AI → Automations.
2. Check that Main bot is on.
3. Under TikTok, open the comments source.
4. Turn on the base automation to answer every comment, and use Additional instructions to shape how it talks — tone, goal, examples of what to say.
5. To react to specific words, add a custom automation: name it, set the keywords and how they match, and write its Public reply.
6. Turn your rules on (new rules start off) and test them — use the Test chat, or leave a comment on one of your videos.

Keyword rules are useful for routing people to offers or information instantly. When someone comments PROMO, the reply shares your discount code; when they comment HOURS, it shares your opening times.

Important Notes

Messaging Limits

TikTok limits how you can message people:

• Comments only — you cannot DM someone based on their comment; they must message you first.
• 48-hour window — once someone DMs you, you have 48 hours to send up to 10 messages.
• Window resets — the 48-hour timer restarts each time they reply to you.

Regional Restrictions

• US accounts — TikTok accounts signed up in the United States cannot connect to Chatfuel.
• EU contacts — contacts with EU TikTok accounts will not appear in Leads, Contacts, or Chats.
