How to Change Greeting by Specialist

Chatfuel does not support setting different greetings for different specialists. The greeting is part of the AI's persona, and the greeting fires before any specialist is involved in the conversation.
What you can do is set different greetings per source: each automation carries its own Additional instructions, so Instagram DMs can open with one greeting and your WhatsApp ads with another.
Set it up in Automations
- Go to Fuely AI → Automations.
- Open Main bot to change the greeting everywhere, or the automation for one channel or post to change it just there.
- Open the Incoming messages setting and describe the greeting in Additional instructions — for example: Greet new customers with "Hi! Welcome to Glow Studio 👋 Are you here to book, ask about prices, or something else?"
The greeting is part of the AI's persona, so you can shape its tone, language, and wording in the same place.
Or ask the AI Co-Worker
Tell it what you want in chat:
"Change the greeting my AI sends to new customers."
It applies the change and confirms what it set. Remember: greetings can differ per source, but not per specialist.
Why there is no per-specialist greeting
Fuely AI greets every customer before any routing happens. The conversation may later be assigned to a team member, but at the moment of the greeting there is no specialist context yet — so there is nothing to vary the greeting by.
How to make the greeting feel personalized
Even without per-specialist greetings, you can make each greeting work well:
- Keep it short and friendly — a warm one-liner works better than a paragraph.
- Mention your business name — so the customer knows who they are talking to.
- Offer quick options — list 2–3 common reasons customers reach out, so the AI can route the conversation to the right specialist faster.
- Match the greeting to the source — a customer replying to an ad expects a different opener than one writing a cold DM. Override Additional instructions on that source's automation.
The greeting reaches customers on any connected channel — WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or your website widget.
