How to Set Up Comment Replies From Claude or ChatGPT

An AI assistant connected to the Chatfuel MCP server can set up automatic replies to comments under your posts on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. You describe what you want, for example "DM everyone who comments 'price'", and the assistant creates or updates the comment automation and tells you its name.
What can the assistant set up?
The assistant can set up comment replies for:
- Every comment on the platform, through the comment base automation.
- Chosen posts on Instagram and Facebook. The assistant lists your recent posts so you can pick them.
- Keywords in comments, for example "price" plus 2–4 synonyms or spellings. A keyword can match when the comment contains it, matches it exactly, or doesn't contain it.
Each reply can be written by Fuely AI, be the same fixed text every time, or be turned off. On Instagram and Facebook, a comment reply has two parts: a public reply under the comment and a private message to its author. How these automations work in the dashboard is in Instagram comment autoreply.
How to ask for comment replies
Write the request in your own words:
- "Make the AI reply to comments on my latest Instagram post."
- "DM everyone who comments 'price' under my last two reels with our price list. Publicly reply 'Sent you a DM!'"
- "Reply to Facebook comments in Spanish, short and friendly."
The assistant checks which channels are connected, finds the posts, and asks a yes/no question before it turns on the Main bot, turns off a base automation or rewrites an existing custom automation.
What should I know about fixed replies?
A fixed public reply works best at up to 8 words. For a fixed reply on Instagram and Facebook, give both the public text and the private message. With AI replies, describe in 1–3 sentences how the AI should answer: tone, language and what to offer.
How do comment replies work on TikTok?
TikTok comment replies use keywords only, and TikTok doesn't allow a private message to the commenter. The public reply should invite the person to write first, for example "DM me and I'll send it". Ask the assistant to also turn on the TikTok direct messages automation so the AI answers those messages. TikTok posts aren't listed by the assistant.
What happens to other comments?
When the assistant creates a custom comment automation for chosen posts or keywords, the platform's comment base automation is turned off, so other comments get no reply. Ask for a reply to every comment as well if you want both.
Common issues
A comment got no reply or the wrong one
Ask the assistant "Why did this comment get no reply?". It explains which automation matched and why, and proposes a fix. The order of matching is in which automation replies to a message or comment.
The assistant says the AI needs a plan
AI-written comment replies need a working plan with AI credits. Check your plan and credits as described in Chatfuel plans and pricing.
