Is WhatsApp Audio Listening Enabled?

There is no separate setting for audio listening on WhatsApp.

Last updated on

There is no separate setting for audio listening on WhatsApp. Voice message processing is built into Fuely AI and works automatically — as long as the WhatsApp direct messages automation is on, the AI also listens and replies to voice messages.

How it works

When a customer sends a voice message, Fuely AI transcribes the audio and processes it as text. The response is sent back as a regular text message. This happens for every voice message, just like it does for typed messages — the two share the same pipeline, so if the AI is replying to text on WhatsApp, it is processing voice too. There is no additional toggle, checkbox, or setting specifically for audio.

Set it up in Automations

  1. Go to Fuely AIAutomations.
  2. Under WhatsApp, open direct messages.
  3. Make sure the automation is turned on.

Or ask the AI Co-Worker

Tell it what you want in chat:

"Is AI answering WhatsApp messages?" — and if it's off, "Answer all WhatsApp messages."

It applies the change and confirms what it set.

Audio not being processed?

If voice messages are not getting a response, the issue is almost certainly that the automation is off — not that audio is disabled. See Why Chatfuel does not process audio messages for a step-by-step checklist.
