How to Enable 'Typing...' Animation

Turn on the "Typing…" indicator in Fuely AI → Automations → Message delays, or ask the AI Co-Worker to enable it for a channel or for the Main bot.

Want your customers to see a "Typing..." indicator while the AI prepares a reply? This is built into the Message delays setting — no separate toggle needed.

Set it up in Automations

  1. Go to Fuely AIAutomations.
  2. Open the automation for the channel or post you want (or Main bot to change it everywhere).
  3. Open the Message delays setting and turn it on.

That's it. While the delay is active, customers see a "Typing..." animation in the chat — just like when a real person is composing a message. This makes the conversation feel more natural and lets customers know a reply is coming.

Like every setting on an automation, Message delays is inherited from Main bot unless you override it on a specific source.

Or ask the AI Co-Worker

Tell it what you want in chat:

"Show a typing animation while the AI replies."

It applies the change and confirms what it set.

What the delay actually does

Message delays serve two purposes at once:

  • Bundles multiple messages — if a customer sends several short messages in a row, the AI waits and responds to all of them together instead of replying to each one separately.
  • Shows a typing indicator — during the wait, the customer sees "Typing..." so the chat doesn't feel silent.

There is no way to show the typing animation without the delay, and no way to have the delay without the animation — they are the same setting.
