# Troubleshooting Meta Business Verification

If your Meta business verification was rejected or you're seeing an error, this guide covers the most common issues and how to fix them.

If your [Meta business verification](https://chatfuel.com/docs/whatsapp/verify-your-meta-business-account) was rejected or you're seeing an error, this guide covers the most common issues and how to fix them.

## Your document was not accepted [#your-document-was-not-accepted]

Meta only accepts specific types of business documents. Personal documents like passports or driver's licenses will be rejected.

Accepted documents:

* Government tax document (from the tax authority)
* Business registration or license document
* Certificate or articles of incorporation
* Business bank statement

If your document was rejected, resubmit with one of the accepted types listed above. Make sure the legal business name on the document matches the name in your [Meta Business Info settings](https://business.facebook.com/latest/settings/business_info).

## Legal business name does not match [#legal-business-name-does-not-match]

This is the most common rejection reason. It means the name on your document doesn't match the legal business name in your Meta Business settings.

To fix this:

1. Open your [Meta Business Info page](https://business.facebook.com/latest/settings/business_info).
2. Check the **Legal business name** field.
3. Update it to match *exactly* what appears on your document — or upload a document that matches the name already set in Meta.
4. Let us know once updated, and we'll resubmit your verification.

## Chatfuel doesn't have access to your WhatsApp Business account [#chatfuel-doesnt-have-access-to-your-whatsapp-business-account]

This error means your WhatsApp number is no longer connected to Chatfuel. You may have disconnected the number or deleted the WhatsApp Business account.

To proceed with verification, [reconnect a phone number](https://chatfuel.com/docs/whatsapp/how-to-connect-a-new-phone-number) to Chatfuel first.

## Your business account was disabled by Meta [#your-business-account-was-disabled-by-meta]

If Meta has disabled your business account, we cannot submit your verification. This happens when Meta determines the account doesn't follow their [WhatsApp Business Terms of Service](https://www.whatsapp.com/legal/business-terms/).

If you believe this is a mistake, request a review directly in [Meta Support Home](https://business.facebook.com/business-support-home).

## Your business is not yet eligible for verification [#your-business-is-not-yet-eligible-for-verification]

This usually means your business information on Meta is incomplete.

To fix this:

1. Go to your [Meta Business Info page](https://business.facebook.com/latest/settings/business_info).
2. Fill in **all** fields — even those marked as optional.
3. Let us know once everything is complete, and we'll resubmit.

If the error persists after 24 hours with all fields filled in, contact us with a screenshot of your Business Info page (including the browser URL bar) so we can investigate further.

## There is a pending verification request [#there-is-a-pending-verification-request]

If you or someone else already submitted a verification request, Meta requires a 3-day waiting period before a new one can be submitted. No action is needed — we'll retry automatically. If the issue persists after 3 days, we'll escalate it to Meta support.

## Verification submission limit reached [#verification-submission-limit-reached]

As a Meta Solution Partner, Chatfuel can submit verification on your behalf up to three times. If all attempts have been used, you can still apply for verification directly:

1. Go to [Meta Security Center](https://business.facebook.com/latest/settings/security_center).
2. Follow the steps to submit your business verification.

## Verification is taking longer than expected [#verification-is-taking-longer-than-expected]

In rare cases, a technical issue on Meta's side may delay the process. If this happens, we submit a support ticket to Meta on your behalf. Unfortunately, resolution times depend on Meta and we cannot provide an estimated timeframe.
