## How to send a template yourself [#how-to-send-a-template-yourself]

1. Go to **Chats** and open the conversation with the contact you want to message.
2. Below the message input field, click **Choose template**.
3. Select the approved template you want to send.
4. Fill in any variables if the template requires them.
5. Click **Send**.

That's it — the [template](https://chatfuel.com/docs/whatsapp/how-to-create-whatsapp-templates) will be delivered to the contact. Once they reply, a new [24-hour messaging window](https://chatfuel.com/docs/whatsapp/24-hour-messaging-window) will open.
