# How to Connect Chatfuel to AI Assistants With MCP

Add https://mcp.chatfuel.com/panel to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, VS Code, Codex, Gemini CLI or Muse, sign in, and manage your bots by chatting.

You connect Chatfuel to an AI assistant by adding the Chatfuel MCP server link to the assistant and signing in with your Chatfuel account. After that, the assistant can work with your bots, Automations and Knowledge Base when you ask it in your own words.

The server link for assistants is:

```
https://mcp.chatfuel.com/panel
```

Coding agents can also use the developer link `https://mcp.chatfuel.com/panel/api` with the whole Chatfuel GraphQL API, explained in [MCP or API MCP: which Chatfuel link to use](https://chatfuel.com/docs/mcp/which-chatfuel-mcp-link-to-use).

## How to connect Claude [#how-to-connect-claude]

In Claude, open **Customize** → **Connectors**, click **+ Add** → **Add custom connector**, enter the name Chatfuel and the server link, then click **Connect** and sign in to Chatfuel. Team and Enterprise steps are in [how to connect Claude to Chatfuel](https://chatfuel.com/docs/mcp/connect-claude-to-chatfuel).

## How to connect ChatGPT [#how-to-connect-chatgpt]

On chatgpt.com, open chatgpt.com/plugins, click **+** → **Add custom MCP server**, enter the server link, choose OAuth and sign in. ChatGPT custom MCP servers are available on Business, Enterprise and Edu plans. Desktop app steps are in [how to connect ChatGPT to Chatfuel](https://chatfuel.com/docs/mcp/connect-chatgpt-to-chatfuel).

## How to connect Claude Code [#how-to-connect-claude-code]

Run this command, then run `/mcp` inside Claude Code and sign in to Chatfuel:

```
claude mcp add --transport http chatfuel https://mcp.chatfuel.com/panel
```

The developer link and token setup are in [how to connect Claude Code to Chatfuel](https://chatfuel.com/docs/mcp/connect-claude-code-to-chatfuel).

## How to connect Cursor, VS Code and Codex [#how-to-connect-cursor-vs-code-and-codex]

* **Cursor.** Add the server to `~/.cursor/mcp.json` and sign in when Cursor asks. Details: [how to connect Cursor to Chatfuel](https://chatfuel.com/docs/mcp/connect-cursor-to-chatfuel).
* **VS Code.** Run `code --add-mcp '{"name":"chatfuel","type":"http","url":"https://mcp.chatfuel.com/panel"}'`, trust the server and sign in. Details: [how to connect VS Code to Chatfuel](https://chatfuel.com/docs/mcp/connect-vs-code-to-chatfuel).
* **Codex.** Run `codex mcp add chatfuel --url https://mcp.chatfuel.com/panel`, then `codex mcp login chatfuel`. Details: [how to connect Codex to Chatfuel](https://chatfuel.com/docs/mcp/connect-codex-to-chatfuel).

## How to connect Gemini CLI, Antigravity and Muse [#how-to-connect-gemini-cli-antigravity-and-muse]

* **Gemini CLI and Antigravity.** Add the server with `gemini mcp add` or in `~/.gemini/config/mcp_config.json`, then authenticate. Details: [how to connect Gemini CLI and Antigravity to Chatfuel](https://chatfuel.com/docs/mcp/connect-gemini-cli-and-antigravity-to-chatfuel).
* **Meta Muse.** In Muse, open **Settings** → **Connectors**, pick Chatfuel and sign in. Details: [how to connect Meta Muse to Chatfuel](https://chatfuel.com/docs/mcp/connect-meta-muse-to-chatfuel).

## How to connect another assistant [#how-to-connect-another-assistant]

Any assistant that supports remote MCP servers can connect. Add a remote MCP server with the Streamable HTTP transport and the link `https://mcp.chatfuel.com/panel`, then sign in to Chatfuel. If the assistant can't sign in through the browser, use a CLI token instead, as described in [Chatfuel MCP sign-in, read-only access and CLI token](https://chatfuel.com/docs/mcp/mcp-sign-in-read-only-and-cli-token).

## What can I ask the assistant? [#what-can-i-ask-the-assistant]

Write in your own words. Examples:

* *"Show me my bots and which ones have AI turned on."*
* *"Add an FAQ: we are open Monday to Saturday, 9:00 to 18:00."*
* *"Reply to comments on my latest Instagram post and invite people to DM us."*
* *"Why isn't my bot replying on WhatsApp?"*

More requests by task are in [Chatfuel MCP example prompts](https://chatfuel.com/docs/mcp/chatfuel-mcp-example-prompts).

## Common issues [#common-issues]

### The assistant can see my bots but can't change anything [#the-assistant-can-see-my-bots-but-cant-change-anything]

You probably turned on **Read-only** on the Chatfuel consent screen. Disconnect Chatfuel in the assistant, connect again, and leave **Read-only** off.

### Can the assistant send a broadcast or turn the AI off everywhere? [#can-the-assistant-send-a-broadcast-or-turn-the-ai-off-everywhere]

No. Sending broadcasts and turning the AI off for all channels are done in the Chatfuel dashboard.

### Something else doesn't work [#something-else-doesnt-work]

Fixes for sign-in errors, missing tools and a bot that stays silent are in [Chatfuel MCP troubleshooting](https://chatfuel.com/docs/mcp/chatfuel-mcp-troubleshooting).
