# How to Connect Cursor to Chatfuel

Add Chatfuel to ~/.cursor/mcp.json with https://mcp.chatfuel.com/panel, or chatfuel-api with /panel/api for the full API, then sign in when Cursor asks.

Cursor connects to Chatfuel through the Chatfuel MCP server, added with the **Add to Cursor** button or in `~/.cursor/mcp.json`. After you sign in with your Chatfuel account, the Cursor agent can manage your bots or, with the developer link, build on the full Chatfuel GraphQL API.

## How to add Chatfuel with one click [#how-to-add-chatfuel-with-one-click]

Open [mcp.chatfuel.com](https://mcp.chatfuel.com), find **Cursor** and click **Add to Cursor**, then confirm in Cursor. Sign in to Chatfuel when Cursor asks, or click **Connect** next to the server in Cursor's MCP settings.

## How to add Chatfuel in mcp.json [#how-to-add-chatfuel-in-mcpjson]

Add the server to `~/.cursor/mcp.json`:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "chatfuel": { "url": "https://mcp.chatfuel.com/panel" }
  }
}
```

To also give the agent the full Chatfuel GraphQL API, add the developer server next to it:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "chatfuel": { "url": "https://mcp.chatfuel.com/panel" },
    "chatfuel-api": { "url": "https://mcp.chatfuel.com/panel/api" }
  }
}
```

Then sign in to each server when Cursor asks. The two servers are separate connections. What each one offers is in [MCP or API MCP: which Chatfuel link to use](https://chatfuel.com/docs/mcp/which-chatfuel-mcp-link-to-use).

## How to connect Cursor with a CLI token [#how-to-connect-cursor-with-a-cli-token]

If Cursor can't sign in through the browser, add the CLI token as a header:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "chatfuel": {
      "url": "https://mcp.chatfuel.com/panel",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <token>" }
    }
  }
}
```

Replace `<token>` with your Chatfuel CLI token and keep the file out of shared repositories. Where to create the token is in [Chatfuel MCP sign-in, read-only access and CLI token](https://chatfuel.com/docs/mcp/mcp-sign-in-read-only-and-cli-token).

## What can I ask the Cursor agent? [#what-can-i-ask-the-cursor-agent]

Examples:

* *"Show me the AI automations of my bot."*
* *"Add FAQ entries from this price list."*
* *"Write a script that lists my Qualified leads and saves them to a CSV file"* (with `chatfuel-api`).

More requests are in [Chatfuel MCP example prompts](https://chatfuel.com/docs/mcp/chatfuel-mcp-example-prompts). An overview of Cursor with Chatfuel is on [chatfuel.com/mcp/cursor](https://chatfuel.com/mcp/cursor).

## Common issues [#common-issues]

### Cursor shows the Chatfuel server in red or as needing login [#cursor-shows-the-chatfuel-server-in-red-or-as-needing-login]

Open Cursor's MCP settings and click **Connect** next to the server, then sign in to Chatfuel again. The sign-in may have expired or been revoked in **Connected apps** in the Chatfuel dashboard.

### Signing in to chatfuel didn't connect chatfuel-api [#signing-in-to-chatfuel-didnt-connect-chatfuel-api]

Each server needs its own sign-in. Click **Connect** next to `chatfuel-api` as well.
