# How to Close Live Chat

To close a live chat, change the lead's status to Closed.

To close a live chat, change the [lead's status](https://chatfuel.com/docs/leads/leads) to **Closed**.

## Set it up in Leads [#set-it-up-in-leads]

There are two ways to do this:

### Option 1: Move it on the Kanban board [#option-1-move-it-on-the-kanban-board]

1. Go to the **Leads** tab in the sidebar.
2. Find the lead card you want to close.
3. Drag it to the **Closed** column.

### Option 2: Close from inside the chat [#option-2-close-from-inside-the-chat]

1. Open the conversation you want to close.
2. In the right panel, find the lead status.
3. Change the status to **Closed**.

## Or ask the AI Co-Worker [#or-ask-the-ai-co-worker]

Tell the [AI Co-Worker](https://chatfuel.com/docs/ai-features/what-the-ai-co-worker-can-do-for-you) what you want in chat:

*"Close the chat with Maria as won."*

It moves the lead to Closed for you and confirms what it set.

## What happens after closing [#what-happens-after-closing]

* The lead moves to the Closed stage and is marked as won or lost.
* Fuely AI stops responding in that conversation — closing the chat ends the active [AI session](https://chatfuel.com/docs/ai-features/how-fuely-ai-sessions-work), so the bot won't keep replying off the previous interaction.
* The chat history is preserved — you can review it anytime.
