# How to Create a New Bot for WhatsApp

Each bot in Chatfuel lives inside its own company workspace.

Each bot in Chatfuel lives inside its own company workspace. To create a new WhatsApp bot, you first create a new company, then connect your WhatsApp number to it.

## Step 1: Create a new company [#step-1-create-a-new-company]

1. Click the **arrow** next to your avatar in the bottom-left corner of the navigation menu.
2. Hover over your name to expand the menu.
3. Click **My Companies**.
4. Click **Create New Company**.

Your new company appears in the list immediately. If you manage multiple clients or businesses, each one gets its own [separate company workspace](https://chatfuel.com/docs/account/how-to-manage-multiple-companies) with independent bots, channels, and billing.

## Step 2: Connect your WhatsApp number [#step-2-connect-your-whatsapp-number]

Once inside your new company:

1. Open **Settings** in the left sidebar.
2. Click **Add number** in the WhatsApp section.
3. Follow the on-screen steps to log in with Facebook, authorize Chatfuel, and verify your phone number.

## Step 3: Set up your AI [#step-3-set-up-your-ai]

After your number is connected, [activate AI on your WhatsApp channel](https://chatfuel.com/docs/whatsapp/how-to-activate-ai-in-whatsapp) by enabling its [automations](https://chatfuel.com/docs/ai-features/automations) and filling your Knowledge Base. This is what makes the bot actually respond to customers.

## Switching between bots [#switching-between-bots]

To switch to a different bot, click the arrow next to your avatar again, open **My Companies**, and select the company you want to work in. The dashboard switches to that company's workspace instantly.
