# Create a client company

Every client you sign starts life in Chatfuel the same way: as a fresh company inside your agency's workspace.

Every client you sign starts life in Chatfuel the same way: as a fresh **company** inside your agency's workspace. The clicking takes two minutes; what matters is *when* you do it and what you do right after, so the new company doesn't sit empty while you chase the client for access. This page is the doing — the reasoning behind one-client-one-company lives in [Agency → clients model](https://chatfuel.com/docs/for-agencies/agency-clients-model).

## Before you create it [#before-you-create-it]

Do the access homework first. The new company is useless until the client's channels are connected to it, and connecting them requires [access to the client's Meta assets](https://chatfuel.com/docs/for-agencies/what-to-ask-the-client-for) — partner access to their portfolio, or a scheduled screen-share for the WhatsApp authorization. Agencies that create the company on signing day and collect access "sometime this week" end up with a workspace full of empty shells. Collect first, create second, connect immediately.

## Creating the company [#creating-the-company]

1. **Open My Companies.** Click your **avatar** in the navigation menu, then click **My Companies**. This is the [list of every client company](https://chatfuel.com/docs/account/how-to-manage-multiple-companies) in your workspace.
2. **Create the company.** Click **Create New Company**. The new company appears in the list instantly — no setup wizard, no payment step. Your agency subscription already covers it.
3. **Name it after the client.** Use the client's business name, not a project codename. Six months and ten clients from now, **My Companies** is the list you navigate all day — it should read like your client roster, not like an inside joke.

You're now inside the new company, and everything you see — bots, chats, leads, settings — belongs to this client alone. Switching back to another client is the same path: avatar → **My Companies** → pick one.

> **Note:** Companies are unlimited on agency plans, and usage limits are shared across your whole workspace rather than metered per company. Creating a company for a brand-new client costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

## Right after: the onboarding checklist [#right-after-the-onboarding-checklist]

An empty company becomes a working client in three moves. Do them in order, the same way, for every client:

1. **Connect the client's WhatsApp** — the channel your qualification bot will live on. The step-by-step, including the two routes (new number vs. their existing WhatsApp Business App number), is in [Connect the client's WhatsApp](https://chatfuel.com/docs/for-agencies/connect-the-clients-whatsapp).
2. **Invite the people who'll work here** — your bot builder as Editor, the client's sales reps as Agent. [Invites](https://chatfuel.com/docs/account/how-to-add-teammates) are per company, from **Settings → Teammates**; the role logic is in [Roles and access for the agency team](https://chatfuel.com/docs/for-agencies/roles-and-access-for-the-agency-team).
3. **Start business verification** — it lifts Meta's messaging caps, and it takes a document round-trip with the client, so [get it moving](https://chatfuel.com/docs/for-agencies/whatsapp-phone-number-verification) before you need the volume.

Run this checklist enough times and client onboarding stops being a project and becomes a routine: sign, collect access, create the company, connect, invite, verify, launch.
