If you stop paying now and decide to resume later — a month, three months, or further down the line — here's what to expect with your data and AI agent training.

## The 60-day rule [#the-60-day-rule]

We keep your account data for **60 days** after your subscription lapses. This includes your AI agent training, flows, audience, and conversation history.

* **Return within 60 days** → everything is restored as it was. Your AI agent picks up with the same training, and your automations keep running the moment you reactivate.
* **Return after 60 days** → your data is wiped. You'll need to set up your AI agent and flows from scratch.

If your last payment was in May and you come back in August (about 3 months later), your data will already be gone. To preserve your setup during a pause, make sure to reactivate within the 60-day window.

## How to avoid losing data [#how-to-avoid-losing-data]

The simplest way is to keep your subscription active, even on the lowest plan. If you need to pause, plan your return within 60 days.

If you've already [cancelled](https://chatfuel.com/docs/billing/how-to-cancel-subscription-or-trial) or your [payment was postponed](https://chatfuel.com/docs/billing/i-postponed-my-payment), the 60-day countdown starts from the end of your last paid period. Reactivating before then keeps everything intact.
