# How to Set Up AI Autobooking

Fuely AI can book appointments automatically — it handles the entire scheduling conversation with your customers and creates bookings in your Calendar without…

## Overview [#overview]

Fuely AI can book appointments automatically — it handles the entire scheduling conversation with your customers and creates bookings in your [Calendar](https://chatfuel.com/docs/calendar/calendar) without any manual work. To make this work, you need to set up your services, add your specialists with their availability, and then enable booking in your [automations](https://chatfuel.com/docs/ai-features/automations).

## Step 1: Set Up Your Services [#step-1-set-up-your-services]

AI needs to know what can be booked before it can schedule anything.

1. Go to **Your Business** → **Catalog** → **Services**.
2. Click **Add service**.
3. Fill in the service name, duration, and any other details.
4. Save when done.

Repeat for each service you offer. AI will use these service details when suggesting options to customers.

## Step 2: Add Specialists [#step-2-add-specialists]

Specialists are the people customers can book with. AI matches a specialist to each appointment based on the service and their availability.

1. Go to **Your Business** → **Specialists**.
2. Click **Add specialist**.

### 2.1 Enter General Info [#21-enter-general-info]

Fill in the specialist's name and any other profile details. This information may be shown to customers during the booking flow.

### 2.2 Assign Services [#22-assign-services]

Select which services this specialist can perform. A specialist will only appear as an option for bookings that match their assigned services.

### 2.3 Set Their Schedule [#23-set-their-schedule]

Define when the specialist is available:

1. Open the specialist's profile.
2. Go to the **Schedule** section.
3. Set their working days and hours.
4. Save.

AI will only offer time slots that fall within the specialist's schedule.

## Set it up in Automations [#set-it-up-in-automations]

Once your catalog and specialists are ready, turn on booking.

1. Go to **Fuely AI** → **Automations**.
2. Open the automation for the channel or post you want (or **Main bot** to enable booking everywhere).
3. Open the **Booking rules** setting and enable booking.
4. Choose how much of the flow the AI handles on its own — see [AI Autonomy Levels](https://chatfuel.com/docs/ai-features/ai-autonomy-levels).

Like every automation setting, Booking rules is inherited from Main bot unless you override it — so you can let the AI book everywhere, or only on some sources.

From this point, Fuely AI will handle incoming booking requests automatically — asking for the service, preferred time, and specialist, then confirming the appointment.

## Or ask the AI Co-Worker [#or-ask-the-ai-co-worker]

Tell it what you want in chat:

*"Set up appointment booking: I have two stylists working Tue–Sat."*

It applies the change — services, specialists, schedules, and booking rules — and confirms what it set.

## Testing Your Setup [#testing-your-setup]

1. Send a message to your connected channel asking to book an appointment, or use the automation's [Test chat](https://chatfuel.com/docs/ai-features/how-to-test-your-automation) to simulate the conversation.
2. Follow the AI's prompts and complete a test booking.
3. Verify the appointment appears in your calendar or booking list.
4. Check that the specialist and time slot match what you configured.

If AI doesn't offer booking options, confirm that at least one specialist has services assigned and a schedule set.

## Important Notes [#important-notes]

* **At least one specialist required** — autobooking won't work if no specialists are added.
* **Service must be assigned** — a specialist with no assigned services won't appear during booking.
* **Schedule gaps** — if a specialist has no available slots for the requested time, AI will suggest the next available opening.
* **Human takeover** — agents can step into any booking conversation at any time. See [How to stop AI during active conversations](https://chatfuel.com/docs/ai-features/how-to-stop-ai-during-active-conversations).
* **Autonomy control** — you can choose how much the AI handles on its own, from just collecting intent to fully autonomous booking, in the same Booking rules setting.
